Chapter Six
Camilla didn’t want to tell Mrs. Martin that her husband might kill her. That would only worry her more. She would ask Tamara and Evie to check on Mrs. Martin. They were out late lots of nights, especially Tamara. She could drive by the house and make sure everything looked okay. Tamara kept a gun in her purse. She’d shown it to Camilla. If Mr. Martin came around to hurt his wife, Tamara would probably shoot him. That was fine with Camilla.
She could hardly wait to get off work so that she could ask them. She hoped they came over tonight. She would drive by their apartment to tell them, except they’d never been explicit about where they lived. They probably thought she’d get lost trying to find them.
At closing time, Mrs. Martin drove away, leaving Camilla in the store. It w
