Every person in our lives are sent to us for a reason -littlediva ANABELLE POV I walk into school with my books in hand making my way straight to class. There aren't many students in school today, maybe because today is the first day of school after the Christmas holidays. Even though I hate school, I have no choice but to be here. Studying has become a way for me to forget about my life. I take my phone out off my jeans back pocket to call my mom. Letting her know I made it to school safely. Although I doubt she would even care. Unlike most typical Nigerian Schools, in our school, students don't wear uniforms, because our principal wants us to appear swaggerlicious. His words not mine. And just then someone bumps into me making my phone fall, papers flying and books scattered around. "Oh my God, I'm so sorry" a deep voice says In front of me, he starts picking up my stuff while I just stand there watching him. He stands in front me his coffee brown eyes staring into my forest green ones. He's new that's for sure, he has chocolate skin, he has long dreadlocks which stops at his broad shoulders. His nose is sharp and pointed as well as his jaw lines, his lips are heart shaped and dark pink, small at the top but full at the bottom. He is gorgeous. WHAT the heck!!! "I'm really sorry, should have looked where I was going". He says smiling nervously at me. Lord, he has dimples. I snap out of my reverie, grabbing my stuff from him, I check my phone and my eyes widen. Its badly damaged, the screen has multiple cracks and there's a leakage of ink. "s**t" the boy curse making me look at him. He's really tall I must say. "I'm really sorry" he says to me looking at the phone in my palm. "No problem, its fine" I say to him, putting my phone in my bag, my voice slightly shaking out of nervousness but I'm not sure he notices. Why am I even nervous? I start moving to my class when I feel someone grabs my wrist. I feel my heart skip a beat and I mentally scold myself for it. I turn around and raised a eyebrow at him, looking at his hand wrapped around my wrist then back to his face. "Oh... I'm s-sorry, I didn't mean to" he says letting go of my wrist. "I just wanted to ask you if you're a senior here". "Yes" "OK could you please help me find SS3 class this school is too big for me to find my way around". A new SS3 student in Greenlead Academy. That's new. "That's where I'm headed, you can come with me" I say and turn around not minding if he's following me or not. "Uh,hi my name is Christian. What's your name?". He asks walking beside me "Muslim" I reply and I hear him chuckle, making me almost smile. ALMOST. ************* "Good morning class" Our English teacher Ms. Itoro greets while arranging her teaching materials on the teachers desk in our classroom. "Good morning ma'am" we reply in unison. "Our topic for today is 'Preposition' " she said making everyone to groan in annoyance. Preposition. Seriously. "I know that we have discussed this before, but we don't have any choice its in the curriculum". The teacher said smiling at us. Seriously she smiles so much that I sometimes think she's related to The Joker. *************** Lunch time rolled by pretty quickly and I pack my books heading straight to the library. I know its weird, but that's where I spend most of my lunch breaks, because I can't be in a crowded place for too long. Our school is a two storey building and its in some sort of an L shape, classes for juniors are down stairs while classes for seniors are upstairs as well as the physics, chemistry and biology laboratories. I greet the librarian Mrs solade and make my way to my usual spot at the back of the library, students don't really come to this part of the library and I'm really grateful for it. I bring out my food flask from my bag munching on the turkey sandwich I made for myself. I'm proud to say I learnt how to cook at the age of 10. Shocking right? After I finish eating I bring out my books and start revising the lessons taught in class. I check my wrist watch. Five minutes before the bell rings. I quickly pack my books and leave the library making my way to class, I spot The brown eyed boy. Chris, Christopher or what ever his name is, standing at the door scrolling on his phone, his head snaps up and his eyes connect directly with mine making a big smile appear on his face. He stands straight putting his phone in his back pocket. "Hey" he says as I stand at the door of the classroom, "I was looking for you, I didn't see you at lunch" Did I just hear right? He was looking for me? "And why would you look for me?" I ask. "I thought we would have lunch together" he replies. Huh? I really don't know why my heart skipped a beat. Maybe its the fact that he remembered me, or the fact that wanted to spend time with me.
