Jo JoI thought time would help me get over Ellie but everywhere I looked, something reminded me of her. The pan she forgot after she made me pancakes, the yellow pillows on my couch, and the obvious, the pictures on my wall. Snapshots of our past taunted me from their frames, reminding me what was at stake. All those precious memories were alive and vibrant while we were friends, but if I couldn’t get over my feelings… If Ellie and I stopped being friends, they’d just be painful reminders of a bygone time. My phone buzzed and I snatched it from the coffee table. Reggie. Disappointed, I put it back down. I didn’t know why I thought it’d be from Ellie, we’d hardly spoken in the past month.
