Ellie EllieA little after eight, the boys and I arrived at Rainbow Central with our gifts. At first glance, it didn’t look like anything special. Just a regular bar with regular people. Most of the other places around were dead quiet but not Rainbow Central. Colourful lights flashed through the windows while music made the street vibrate whenever someone opened the door. A handful of girls with plastic cups and party hats poured out onto the pavement and joined up with others so they could smoke. Frederick and Gaston hollered to make their presence known and were greeted with a collective cheer. We joined the small crowd who were all wearing the same party hats and glow sticks, presumably for Jo’s birthday party. While the guys said their hellos, I scanned the group for familiar faces.
