The Morning After Dinner Warning: Abuse/Violence Aurelia's POV I got up, stretching my limbs before walking into the bathroom. I turned the dial on the bathtub, making sure it was very warm before standing up. Grabbing my brush, I began to brush my hair through so that it wouldn't be hard to brush later after my bath. I looked at myself for a second as I always did every morning; the only difference today was the slight tiredness in my eyes. I had trouble sleeping last night due to my mind running. Something didn't feel right but I couldn't exactly tell what. All I knew was that it was enough to keep me awake most of the night. Sighing, I brushed my teeth and then undressed, stepping into the warm bathtub. I smiled as I soaked my body in the water and grabbed a jar I had next to the tub. It was full of rose petals. I gently poured some of them into the water, lying back. My thoughts began to run again. Did Uncle Rhamon still mean well? A lot of his actions have seemed self-beneficial lately now that I have thought about them. He was always busy, he didn't like how I held myself, didn't like how I cooked, my hobbies, my behavior. He even brought Samuel, a stranger, here. Why would he do that? There must be a reason. After about thirty minutes of relaxing and pampering myself, I stepped out of the tub, wrapping my body with a fluffy towel. I wondered if Uncle was going to come see me today. Probably not... That's probably for the best though. When my body was dry, I slipped on one of my sundresses. It was a pale blue with small flower designs. I tied my hair with a blue bow and applied mascara to my eyes. Then I walked downstairs to see that Uncle Rhamon and Samuel were both down there, drinking coffee at the table. "Oh good morning Uncle and Samuel.. I'm sorry, but I didn't know you'd be coming today." I apologized with confusion as I walked over and sat at the table. "It would be beneficial to work on when you wake up Aurelia. Ten is far too late to wake up when you have priorities." Uncle scolded me and then took a sip of his coffee. I nodded and stood up, walking towards the kitchen. Pulling out some oats from the cabinet, I began making them. "Do you two want anything to eat?" I said, stalling for time. There must be a reason they're down here and it doesn't feel good. Both my Uncle and Samuel shook their heads in response. I felt the stares of the two men boring into me as I made my food. Still, I continued making my breakfast before sitting back down. "Are you ready to talk now?" My uncle said, sounding a little annoyed. After I nodded, he continued, "We are down here for something very important. Samuel has something to tell you." Nodding, I started to eat my oatmeal that I had made. "Aurelia.. I really like you. And I wanted to know." He got up from his seat before kneeling on the floor in front of me, "I was wondering if you would be my beautiful bride." Bride? I hardly knew Samuel and he wanted to get married? I looked at Uncle Rhamon and he just smiled back with a weird smile, it was almost as if he was telling me not to reject him. I stood up from my seat and started to stutter, "What? I hardly know you? Why would I marry someone like-" I was stopped by a sharp pain on my cheek. I fell back, sitting on the floor watching as Samuel stood up with a sigh. He looked at Uncle, who had a dark expression on his face as he stomped towards me. I scrambled backwards and cried out when he grabbed me by the hair. Uncle Rhamon began walking upstairs, pulling me with him, and I yelled in pain. "Please stop Uncle, I'm sorry." He didn't stop. He continued walking until we made it to my room. He grabbed me roughly and threw me on my bed. I watched in fear as he grabbed both of my wrists, tying them to my bed before calling Samuel over. "We were hoping to not have to do this, dear. But you've left us no choice. You will be my bride whether you're willing or not, unfortunately. But I promise that once you give me and my father all that we want.. you'll get anything that you desire." Samuel smirked while caressing my arm softly to try and soothe me. I cried and felt revolted at his touch, looking at my uncle. He had a dark expression, he was not going to help me. The man I had known my whole life was not there in those eyes. That was someone foreign. Someone who didn't care about my well being. Was Uncle Rhamon lying to me this whole time? I couldn't wrap my head around what was happening. "Leave me alone.. please.. I did nothing wrong." I sobbed, trying to get away from Samuel. Samuel wiped the tears off my cheeks, kissing one softly as he spoke, and I watched as he moved his arm behind his back, out of my view. "Darling, don't cry. You'll be an amazing wife. I just know it." He said as he pulled out a syringe, stabbing it into my neck. I growled as I felt the liquid entering my body. It felt like immense heat that burned, causing me to scream. It hurt, Samuel was hurting me, Uncle was hurting me... "What did you put in me?!" I screamed as the pain continued to spread throughout my body. "I am just making you know that... " Samuel sighed, moving closer to my ear for me to hear better, "You are mine..." That was the last thing I heard before I fell unconscious from the pain.
