BEFORE THE DINNER
Rhoman's POV
I groaned with annoyance as a sharp knock came from the door, "Come in." I said bluntly as Gina, My 'maid' walked in. "What is it?"
She smiled softly, walking over to me and rubbing my shoulders. Gina always knew how to make me feel better. She had a mate one time, but he died a few years ago. Since then, she has recovered from it. "Alpha. Your son will be here soon. Is there anything I can do for you until then?" She purred.
I smiled at her sentence, grabbing her hand and pulling her onto my lap. "Gina.. I don't have time to play with you right now. What would your Luna think?" I said smugly while gently caressing the skin of her arms.
Gina was a pretty girl in her mid-twenties. I would never tell her but I am the one who killed her mate. I couldn't see her with anyone but me. I had a mate myself who I did love, but she wasn't enough for me. She didn't need to know about my flings though.
Gina was around 5'6, not too tall and she had mid-length brunette hair along with golden tanned skin. When I first found her, her skin was rough, but with my money, we worked on it until it became smooth again.
She giggled, "Alpha, it doesn't matter what she thinks." She then kissed my cheek, "It only matters what you think."
I smiled, "If only everyone had your point of view, Gina." She then got off my lap, pouring me a cup of scotch before going to leave.
"I'll see you later, Alpha. I can hear your son coming." Gina smiled and then left the room, leaving me by myself. I then sipped from the glass she gave me, enjoying the flavor as it melted on my tongue.
I tapped the glass softly, continuing to take small sips as my son walked in. "An alcoholic, as always I see father." Samuel said with an annoyed glance towards the drink.
Shrugging, I put the glass down, responding, "Samuel, that was quite rude, don't you think?" I questioned with an amused glance. Today was the day I would introduce Samuel, my 20-year-old son, to Aurelia. My hopes were to set the two up and have them get married. It would be great if they were mates, but it wouldn't ruin anything if not. Either way, they'd get married because I said so, so that I could continue to control Aurelia.
Aurelia had powers she didn't even know she had because she was not a werewolf. I would soon be able to manipulate her into destroying the Northern Wolf king, so that I could become king. It was a simple plan, so simple, yet her parents never figured to do so. Not that it mattered to me, since as soon as I realized, the two shifters outside of my city were not what they seemed.
I wasn't related to them, so killing them didn't bother me. It was easy to lie to the child and make her think I was her uncle. Almost as easy as it was to erase her memories and trap her in my basement. It's not like my plan would harm her that badly, as I am sure she would want to help me, she'd have a fully capable husband, and have a content life. There wasn't anything for her to see wrong in the situation, especially because I raised her to do anything I wanted of her.
Samuel sat down in the seat in front of my desk sighing, "Why did you want to talk to me about father? You already know mom is going to flip out when she finds out that I am here." Samuel and his mom didn't have the best relationship, simply because he tended to avoid his mom a lot.
"Maybe you should have lunch with us today. It would make her happy." I stated in a requestful manner even though it was more of a demand. I may not be the best mate ever, but I do love my mate. Unfortunately, we only had Samuel and then the doctors told us it would be too dangerous for her to have anymore pups. This broke her heart, but of course, we didn't have anymore.
Samuel rolled his eyes, "You act like it's a choice. Fine. What do you want?"
I smiled and then cleared my throat. "Do you remember that girl I had in the basement?" He nodded, so I continued, "Today you finally get to meet her. She probably won't be your mate, but she'll still make a beautiful, capable companion."
I watched him sigh, thinking about it for a minute and then nodding. What I wanted wasn't unreasonable. I wouldn't tell him to marry someone incapable or not important and he knew that. In fact, a lot of wolves married people they weren't mated to and willingly rejected their mates. Sometimes the other would be given a second chance mate in return, but it wouldn't matter to Samuel either way.
Sam didn't really care whether he found his mate or not. Which is probably my own fault because I haven't ever treated my mate as people normally would. "When do I get to meet her?" He asked in an interested tone.
Smiling, I finished the rest of my glass of scotch and stood up. "I have no doubt that you will love her son. You'll be eating dinner with her tonight."
My son nodded before standing up, "I guess I'll be going to see if mother needs help with lunch. Last, I remember she enjoys cooking her own meals." He said before leaving the room, and I smiled at myself. My plan was coming along perfectly with no problems.
I stood up before walking downstairs, seeing my mate happily making lunch with my son. At the end of all of this, she would be happy with this too. It was going to be good for all of us.
