Chapter 8

1050 Words
Aurelia's POV "Aurelia, and you? Unless you'd like to be called Mrs. Purpit." I asked, looking at her instead of Samuel. Talking out of line was something I had to truly fear now. The last thing I needed was another dose of Ivagilda in my system. I may have gained consciousness once, but who is to say I am able to do it again? Mrs. Purpit laughs, blushing a little, "Oh my what a charming Madam. My name is Emily Purpit. I shall help you find the perfect dress for your special day!" Special day. I wouldn't exactly call it that, but hopefully, I will find some way out. Being rash wouldn't help me in my situation, so keeping a sharp eye out would be important. Feigning innocence would also help me, so I wouldn't be suspected. Samuel sighed, increasing his grip on my hand for a second before letting go and speaking, "Yes, Emily, that's why I fell in love with her. She is.. amazing." He looked back at me with a glint in his eyes before turning back to her, "Where is your husband? I'd love to talk to him while you and Aure look at dresses. I'm afraid I wont be much help with such a trivial thing." Emily grimaced a little before pointing to a door in the back, "He should be in the back doing some work. You're welcome to see him. I am sure he would enjoy the company." She says, causing him to leave the room and she huffs, crossing her arms over her chest, "I cannot believe men. A bride's dress is very important on her wedding day. We can not have you looking shabby or rough, my dear. It is not a trivial matter." Her ranting made me laugh. Even though a wedding dress was one of the least of my concerns, it was funny to see someone regard the decision so highly. "Well, I suppose my image is in your hands, Emily," I said with a smile as I let her guide me to a room that had a dressing room behind it. It had felt like we'd been looking through dresses for hours. I thought many of them were beautiful enough to be satisfactory, but then Emily would come and say something that was wrong with the dress, such as, "It doesn't compliment your breasts." Or "It has so much poof it seems to drown you out." Samuel popped in from time to time just to check on us and once he saw everything was fine he'd leave. I am sure he was probably annoyed about how long this was taking. Finally, I walked out of the dressing room with a mermaid dress adorned with various lacing and jewels. It had a cape on the back that traveled all the way down to the floor. It hugged the little bit of curves I had and it didn't show too much. I liked it. "That one looks beautiful on you dear." Emily said with a soft smile. I nodded in agreement, "I'll take this one, Emily. Do you, by chance, have a veil as well?" Emily giggled, "Do I have veils? Do you know who you're talking to?" She asks and then walks away, coming back with a long beautiful veil. "I'll package these up for you and send them to the next Alpha Takira's house." That sentence made me want to laugh. Of course, Samuel wasn't there, so it's not like he would do anything. Emily obviously doesn't know how much they tricked me or anything either. But if I hadn't known before, this is when I'd definitely find out they're related. After Emily was done packing up the stuff we bought, we left, going to different stores and venues to buy things for the wedding. Though Samuel didn't care much about most of the stuff besides him insisting that we have roses at our wedding, since he knew I liked them so much. However, he also requested pink and white roses as well as a random flower I hadn't heard of. When I asked, he just said I would see on our wedding. Eventually, we returned to the house and I had skipped attending dinner in the hall with the others. I had just told them I was tired and wanted to relax in my room. They allowed it and I ate dinner alone there. It was now around eight and I was lying in my bed reading. I was worried about when Samuel would come because I knew that it was his room as well. But maybe I would get lucky and he would wait till at least after we were married. I got up from my bed, shut the book and walked outside the room. There was a maid outside, so I decided I could ask her, "Does Samuel sleep in here?" The maid looked at me with a wary look before nodding, "Yes, he usually arrives around ten, my lady." She said, but then resumed her tasks. The woman looked a little afraid of talking to me. Was it because of Rhamon and Samuel? If they punished me, I am sure it would be worse for people working for them. That meant I had two hours before he got there. Honestly, it was probably smarter to go to sleep before he got here rather than wait. I was afraid of being in such a small place with him. Who knew what he wanted to do with me? I walked back into my room, changing into pajamas before lying down and going to sleep. Thankfully, it was rather easy with the little sleep I had been getting. Samuel's POV I walked into our room with a smile on my face. It was nice to say that it was our room. I would miss having my own, but I wouldn't mind sharing with such a beauty and my future. When I walked inside, the lights were off and Aurelia was lying on the bed, fast asleep. She seemed tired all day, so I wasn't too upset about it. It was disappointing she couldn't attend dinner, but I wouldn't bring that up with her. I did not want to have to take as drastic measures as my father.
