Chapter 6

Elisio's POV "Ivagilda? How could there possibly be Ivagilda in my blood system?" I asked questioningly. Ivagilda was a flower that was illegal to grow. It was illegal because of the effects it could create if ingested In lower established packs, Ivagilda became a big problem about a year ago, so I had it banned, making sure that it was burned anywhere it had been growing so that I knew nobody had it. In general, it was a really nasty poison. It was used to kidnap she wolves and make them do whatever males wanted them to do. After it wore off, they were usually left with nothing or killed. So, how was it that it was in my system? With my blood, you'd think it would be useless and that nobody would be stupid enough to try to poison me with such a thing. Ivagilda works on males, but not as well as it does on females. "Well, it is second hand, your majesty. So you did not consume it. However, usually with second hand Ivagilda poisoning, it is from your mate being poisoned..." Mariona mumbled, trying to explain the situation to me. My mate? How could I be affected by poison affecting my mate? "It is not common, but its not impossible." I sighed, what was I supposed to do with this information? There wasn't exactly a known cure for Ivagilda, and I didn't know who my mate was. "What should I do?" Mariona replied quickly, "There is not much you can do besides take care of yourself.. As for figuring out who had the poison, that would be better discussed with Beta Harley." She was right. The only way I would be able to find my mate and the remaining existence of Ivagilda is by talking to him. I wasn't so sure about the mate part. I wasn't in a place where I really needed a Luna or had the time for one. Especially because a lot of the she wolves I've met were very stuck up and annoying. "Okay, thank you Mariona. Have a good night." I said before hanging up. Then I got up and left my office, walking to my beta's room. Just then, I heard a loud crash behind me, so I turned around. However, there was nothing behind me but a broken vase. Strange things had been happening all day. That's when I realized the book I saw on my desk today. A book about Ivagilda... Who here would have known about it already? Aurelia's POV Alpha Elisio put down the phone before leaving his office, so I followed him. We walked down various hallways and then I tripped, running into a table with a vase on it. Before I could realize it, the vase toppled over, crashing on the floor. Elisio quickly turned to look my way and just then my vision went brightly white. Dryness. I felt like I could hardly breathe. I opened my eyes to see that there was nothing but darkness surrounding me, but instead it wasn't like before, it was a room. I coughed roughly trying to figure out how to breathe clearly. It was as if it was foreign to me. The door of the room burst open and Rhamon came in, "My dear, you're conscious?" He said a little confused but happy. "Are you okay?" He asked with concern and then growled at a maid who had followed him into the room. She filled a glass with some water, handing it to Rhamon, causing him to hand it to me. "Here, your throat must be dry, this will help you feel better." I took the water from him, trying to hide the new-found fear I felt towards him. The only way to get out of this is to go along with what he wants. I can find a way to escape later. When I gulped down the water, he smiled because it stopped the coughing fit I was having. "You were... asleep for some time, Aurelia. Me and your fiance were very worried about you." Rhamon said with fake sincerity, handing the cup I had been using back to the maid when I was done. "My fiance... Oh. Samuel.. I'm sorry to have worried you both.. Uncle" My jaw tightened slightly, calling him uncle like I usually did. How could a man who murdered my parents have the guts to proclaim that he is my uncle or relative? Rhamon shook his head slightly, "Don't apologize dear, we are just concerned about your well being. You had collapsed after you accepted Samuel's marriage proposal. I suspect from excitement." I faked a smile, "Of course. I've always dreamed of getting married to such a great person." My sentence made me inwardly gag. "I knew you would take a liking to him, my dear. Just so you know, you two are to be wed in two days. You have also moved to your new home. Make sure you listen to any rules Samuel gives you Aurelia. Don't do anything that would be disrespectful towards me or our family." Rhamon sternly said, with a glint in his eye. It was hard to wrap my head around the fact that the man that I had lived almost my whole life with and wholeheartedly trusted would do something like this to me. I wondered how hard it was for him to have lied this whole time and to still be doing so. When would he tell me the truth, would he do so at all? What would happen to me if he finds out that I know? That just means that he cannot know. "I understand Uncle Rhamon. I'm so excited! Will I be able to pick out a pretty dress?" I said with a bright smile, pretending to be excited about the situation. This made Rhamon's expression brighten. "Of course, my dear. You are to be the bride of the century. We wouldn't want you to look plain." He said and then stood up holding out his hand, "Come, I'll take you to your room so that you may get dressed in proper attire." He referred to the pajamas I was wearing. I grabbed his hand and he led me throughout the building. It was quite a large place, way bigger than the place I had been confined to my whole life. "Here is your room. Don't take too long, breakfast is soon." Rhamon said before leaving me in my room.
