The nurse taking care of Maya had told me that Maya was feeling quite ill and would need a lot of support and care at this point. It was two monthsbefore the baby arrived and each day came with a new wave of excitement.I was yet to tell Maya about how I felt about her too, but after listening tothe nurse, I figured out that this was the best time to show her my support.At this, I went to the biggest store in the city and got her some dresses thatwould be perfect on her, especially with her bump that was now in view.I got her a flower too and a piece of customized jewelry that had her nameboldly written on it.She was sitting in the living room when I arrived, dressed in a short gownthat made her even more desirable.“I got something”, I informed her, taking a seat beside her while her eyespopped out in surprise.I could tell that she never believed I would say something like that.“You got something for me?” She asked, looking at me and back at the bagI held in my hands.I passed it across to her and gestured for her to go ahead and open it.She squealed in excitement as she tore it open, her excitement was addictivethat I couldn’t help staring at her.“These are so beautiful!” She gushed out in elation as she brought out each of the dresses and admired them.“I would love to see you in them”, I said, licking my lower lips while sheblushed and nodded.She walked into her room and came about some minutes later in the firstdress, looking so dashing and gorgeous.“You look like…an angel”, I gasped in delight and stood up, walked over to her, and placed a soft kiss on her forehead.She froze for a minute but giggled afterward Every dress she tried suitedher perfectly, and she gushed over each of them. I had never seen her thishappy, and I couldn’t help being happy that I was the reason for herexcitement.“Thank you so much”, she finally said and pulled me into a warm hug. Thehug felt like a safe space, and for some minutes, I remained still, not attempting to get disentangled from it.“I love you”, I suddenly blurted out.I didn’t realize what I had said until she pulled out of the hug and lookedinto my eyes, with tears welling up in her eyes.She took in a deep breath and cupped my jaw with her hands. For what seemed like ages, she looked into my eyes as though she could take note of what I had going through my mind.“Did you say…that you love me?” She inquired unbelievably. I could seepure hope in her eyes as she waited for my next response.“I love you so much that I can’t think of what life would be without you”, Iexplained, not believing that I just said something like that to her.She blushed and giggled excitedly. I could tell that she had been waiting to hear that from me.She picked up the piece of jewelry and exclaimed when she saw her name inscribed on it.“This is the best thing I’ve ever gotten as a present”, she noted, with tearsdripping out of her eyes.I leaned closer to her and pulled her into a warm embrace. After a while, we got disentangled, and I took her lips into mine. It was slow at first, and then,fiercer and faster.The dress she wore was fitting and showed part of her cleavage.“You look so adorable”, I whispered into her ear as I led her into my bedroom and shut the door. She shivered slightly, but the desire remained in her eyes.We kissed for a while, fondled each other's hair, and finally fell to the bed,struggling to take our clothes off. I didn’t care that she was pregnant. I wanted to have her there and then…We had a hot session of romance that ended with a heated s*x. The minute we got done, she kept staring at me with a look of admiration in her eyes.“Why are you staring at me like that?” I asked, slightly looking away since I felt shy.She smiled calmly and caressed my cheeks lovingly, after which she placed a small kiss on my lips.“I’m just surprised that we are here. At first, I thought that you can neverlove someone like me”, she divulged.I stared at her in shock, quite surprised to know that she always had feelingsfor me in the depth of her heart.We spent the rest of the evening getting to know each other and talkingabout how life would be together with our child. This was the happiest moment of my life. I had thought that my chance of being happy in life was over, but Maya made me realize that it was only getting started.Days rolled into weeks, and we couldn’t get enough of each other. Eachtime I returned from work, she would be sitting in the living room, with abright welcoming smile on her face.This became the life I’ve always wanted, and I was unable to think of whatit would look like without her.A couple of weeks later, she requested that she go into the city and shop forsome things. Usually, I had servants who took care of shopping for every item we needed.However, this time, Maya insisted on going for it. I didn’t think much before giving her the permission to do so.“Come back early. I wouldn’t want to miss you so much”, I said as I placed a soft kiss on her lips.She gave me a soft wink, after which she left. I sat on the couch and waited for her return since it was a weekend.
