Ophelia and I had arrived in Veredentia and checked into a hotel, eager to rest before meeting her contact. Our destination was a dimly lit, smoky tavern, where we were to meet with a man known as Kael. He had a reputation for knowing the ins and outs of the underground world in Veredentia, and we hoped he could provide the information we needed.
Upon entering the tavern, we located a secluded corner table, which was already occupied by a man who acknowledged Ophelia's greeting with a smirk. Ophelia didn't waste any time getting to the point.
"Kael, we need information about the pits. Anything unusual happening there?"
Kael grinned in response, his comment playful. "Not even a hug because you missed me?"
Ophelia rolled her eyes at the quip, eager to get down to business.
