Chapter 3: The one whose cover is God Don't freak out. Don't freak out. Don't freak out. She repeated to herself over and over again. The creature from earlier was now sitting next to lily. "Darling, are you okay?" The nurse asked Esme who stood in fright staring at the creature beside her. The door behind Esme opened and the new kid stepped inside, sending a slight nod to the nurse. "Is she okay?" Lucy, the school's nurse asked the boy who stared at Esme's frightened state. "Hey," he whispered into her ears and as a person plucked out of a hypnotic state, she blinked once then twice, and then rapidly. "Oh my God, I'm probably dreaming," she muttered to herself. "I'm dreaming," she repeated pacing around. "That's the only way to explain what's going on. This can't be real, none of this is real," she repeated. "So you can see it," he said beside her. She turned around to face him. "Yo..you c..an..see it..t..." she stuttered her gaze focusing on his, as he stared at the nurse and the creature. "Wait? Can you?" "Yes, I can," he answered casually like it wasn't something out of the ordinary. "Wait, are you real?" she asked moving away from him "Flesh and blood." he shrugged Esme stood confused, her mind running a million miles. "Miss Lucy, w...ha..t's w...ha..at ts.. the..at..t that next to... you?" she stammered. Lucy stared at Esme weirdly, her brows furrowed in concern and she stepped closer to esme to inspect her. She placed her palms on Esme's forehead checking her temperature. Esme reluctantly allowed lucy to place her hands on her head, maybe she was hallucinating, maybe she was in a simulation. "Come you should lie down." she helped her to the small bed. Esme spent no time delaying when she climbed into the bed. Breathing in and out steadily, she closed her eyes, allowing herself to get carried away as she drifted off. "What are you doing here, Kyle?" Lucy faced Kyle who was studying Esme's face, he had heard that an abnormal was spotted in Frokn but had not expected her to be a girl. "I'm a student here you know." he answered smugly. "I came here to study." he said. "That's not what I meant." she sighed falling back in her chair, she waved her hand towards the creature which perched on her shoulder rubbing its head with its scrawny arms. "She can see them." He started ignoring her question. "That's not supposed to happen yet." he frowned brushing away the strand of hair on her face. "He sent you here, didn't he?" she asked her eyes wandering over his body. "Apparently, you're incompetent to do your job." Kyle muttered running his finger down her face to her chin. Lucy frowned rising to her feet, the creature flapped its wings letting out a silent screech. "Don't you dare...." the words got hooked in her throat when Kyle's eyes caught hers, his eyes changing swiftly to the pure red they originally are. "Or what...It seems like you're forgetting who your superior is," he stated taking a step closer to her. Lucy felt her blood run cold under his gaze, the real aura of his presence seeping out of his body. "Your incompetency were his words, not mine. For I see you doing a great job controlling the ghouls who may want to cause trouble and alert the angels," he said and halted his eye drifted off to the creature sitting on her shoulders. He reached for it with his left hand, he stroked the creature's head gently. "Speaking about angels, the boy that is intimate with Esme," he said pulling back. "Jason?" Lucy asked with her brows furrowed. "What about him?" she added hastily. "You don't know..." Kyle muttered a slight chuckle escaped his lips. "He's doing a great job suppressing his true form," he whispered turning back to the girl laying on the bed. "Keep an eye on him," he ordered. "I'm thinking it might be too late if he knows what she truly is." The knock of the door pulled their attention, Kyle giving lucy a frantic look. "Who is it?" she asked, Kyle, watched the creature thin and turn into an ash-like substance vanishing in the air. "Miss Lucy, is it okay if I come in?" the voice asked. Lucy recognized the voice and turned to Kyle who was still staring at her. "it's Jason." she mouthed to Kyle who just nodded "Miss Lucy?" Jason repeated. "Is everything alright?" he asked again "Yes, yes, sorry you can come in," she replied going to where Esme was. The door opened and a worried Jason stepped inside, he rushed over to where Lucy stood examining her. "I heard what happened, I came here as fast as I could." he said leaning over Esme face, he caught a whiff of something dead. He frowned standing up properly. "What is that smell?" he waved his hands across his face trying to swat away the foul smell. "Almost like something died." he said cluelessly. His gaze reached Lucy who was confused. "You don't smell that?" he asked again and she frowned. He sighed turning around to face Kyle, his face scrunched up in a frown. "You?" Jason accessed him. His eyes preying on kyle who held his ground. "Yes." kyle answered. "Who are you? I've not seen you before. why are you here?" he questioned inspecting Kyle's face. "I'm kyle, I brought her here." he answered casually. "Hmm...I see. You're the new kid." Jason started shoving his hands in his pocket. He was an inch shorter than Kyle and he didn't like it. "Do you know who I am?" he asked again his eyes boring into kyle. "Castiel." He muttered and Jason's eyes widened turning abruptly to lucy who was now behind her desk, going through some files. Jason turned back to Kyle a small smile on his lips. "So you DO know who I am?" he smirked raking his hands through his hair. "Hard to pass by the one 'Whose cover is God.' you know," Kyle stated his face still void of emotions. "What are you?" Jason implored. "Your worst nightmare," he answered menacingly.
