The prayer room is ordained with large white candles burning with flames. The paintings of former Luna Prelates ascends the intricately designed walls of theprayer room.
Maria covers her face with a transparent cloak, long enough to reach her chest. She slowly falls on her knees and looks up at the wide cylindrical opening in the ceiling showing the bright moon shining its luminous light down at her. She closes her eyes in prayers.
The foundations of the building shakes violently, interrupting Maria's prayer. She opens her eyes and quickly gets on her feet. She runs out of the prayer room, slamming the door open and barging into the common room. The common room is an open space where meetings held by the Luna Prelate with the Luna werewolves are held. The Luna Prelate is the highest order among the ranks of Luna werewolves. Luna werewolves are gifted white werewolves with the ability to lure their opponents. Though they have the abilities of a werewolves, they usually fight with their Elven short sword. The men and women dress in similar medieval cloaks and capes, white in color.
Some Luna werewolves stand guard at the entrance door to the common room. Two Luna werewolves lead the children down a corridor leading out of the common room to look for a safe place. The metal door to the entrance of the temple blasts open. Smoke floods everyone's view.
The dark Alpha guards charge in with weapons; swords and claws. The Luna werewolves surge ahead with shield and weapons. Men fall, clutching at their heads and throats. Blood spurts from their faces and gruesome gasps escapes their wretched mouths.
Maria evades a sword coming for her stomach. Quickly, she slices the guard's neck, blood spurts out.She spins around and sees a dark Alpha guard raising his sword her sister lying defenseless on the ground. She throws one of her swords which stabs him on his chest. The guard writhes as he falls to the ground.
"Maria!" Bolin calls out in the midst of the chaos. Maria turns around to the source of the voice. She sees a slender red haired man with a blood stained cloak. "Come with me."
Maria runs, following him through the claustrophobic cluster of fighters and dead bodies.
"The Luna Prelate is looking for you. He mind-linked me to get you." Bolin says.
They run into a corridor with a fallen chandelier on the ground. Pieces of sharp glasses litters around the blood stained tiles. A guard knees a teen Luna werewolf in the stomach. She falls on the floor. The guard raises his sword and pierces her stomach. She releases a painful gasp before she gives up her spirit,
"No!" Bolin screams in pain as he charges at the guard. His canine teeth protrudes sharply before he jumps on the guard. His sharp canines pierces into the guard's tender neck. The guard screams in pain. Bolin tears out the tender flesh and jumps down. The guard grips his bloody throat and falls on his knees. Bolin spits the flesh out of his mouth before delivering a powerful kick to the guard's neck. The impct dislodges the vertebrae and the guard dies before he reaches the floor.
He stares at the cold lifeless eyes of the teenager. She could have hid but she decided to stay and fight. May she find peace.
"Let's go." Bolin commands.
Him and Maria sprint down the corridor and burst into a large hallway where at the end is a closed metal door. They hurry and getting to the door, they push it open. There stands the Luna Prelate, a man who is a millennium old but looks like a seventy year old. His age is just a number. Four dark alpha guards stand in front of him, motionless.
"Luna Prelate." Frightened gasps escapes Bolin's lips.
"Don't worry. They have been lured." Oziah says. "Maria, come. We have no time."
Maria hurries towards him. Oziah takes out the amulet of Nova on his neck. A metallic turquoise circular object with an ash colored half moon designed intricately on it. He takes Maria's hands and places it in her palm.
"You have to find the True Alpha. The fate of this world depends on you now. You must not let Alpha Garrick get his hands on this," Oziah says.
Maria bows her head slightly, "Yes, Luna Prelate. I will protect this with my life but how do I find him?"
Oziah dips his hand in his pocket and takes out a folded photograph, "Find Lord Wolf Xavier. He saved the True Alpha when he was still tender. My sources tell me he's in the city of Vander where he runs a coffee shop. If anyone knows where the True Alpha is, it is him."
"Yes, Luna Prelate." Maria responds.
"May the spirits be with you my child." Oziah rests his hand on her head and caresses it gently. "Bolin, get her out of here."
"Yes, Luna Prelate," Bolin obeys.
Xavier gently nudges Maria awake. Maria blinks her eyes open. Unaware of her environment, she quickly sits up from her sleeping position.
"Easy child, It's just me," Xavier says. Xavier is dressed in a turtle neck polo and plain trousers. He holds many clothes in his hands Maria and Calvin can select from.
He notices Maria's neat look but bed hair. "I take it you showered last night."
Xavier looks at Calvin at the window, spying on some guards on patrol. He throws the clothes beside Maria.
"Find something that suits you. and also your guard." Xavier says. "Be ready in ten minutes, we need to find him."
Beatrice paces the living room. Distraught. Her son, Jordan had left to take photos of the full moon last night. She tried reasoning with him that she felt worried about him leaving especially with the current situation of Alpha Garrick. She called him but his line was not reachable. She had thought of contacting the guards for help but it's not yet twenty four hours. They would probably tell her he was out partying and having fun but she knows her son is not like that.
Ding dong!
The doorbell rings.
"Jordan?" Beatrice releases a breath of relief as she walks towards the door. She opens it, revealing the two guards that chased Jordan last night.
Beatrice feels her body stiffen. What are dark Alpha guards doing at her house?
"Mrs. Sivel?" The human guard asks.
"Yes, how may I help you?" Beatrice walks out, shutting the door behind her.
"We have some questions we would like to ask you."
"Is my son alright?" Worry etches on Beatrice's face.
"When last did you see your son?"
"Last night. He went to take photographs in the woods."
"And you haven't seen him since then?"
"I haven't... Is my son okay? Is he hurt?"
"Actually, Mrs. Sivel, your son is wanted. We believe he aided a fugitive of the law."
Beatrice stumbles backward in shock as if she felt the earthquake.
"It's not possible. There must be some sort of misunderstanding. Jordan would never..."
"There is an eyewitness account so if your son should return, report him to the Alpha guards so he doesn't get hurt. Make a wise decision ma'am."
Beatrice rests her hand on her chest. That was clearly a threat. Report your son or he is killed. Don't report him and when he is found he could still be killed.
"Have a nice day, ma'am." The guards walk away.
Beatrice quickly enters her house and shuts the door close. Attaching all the locks to the door. She races upstairs to her bedroom. She looks around but can't find her phone. She grabs the edge of the duvet and flings it upward. Her phone lands on the floor. She hurries to the other side of the bed and picks up her phone. Her fingers vibrates as she looks for the person to call. She sees the number and dials. Xavier.
Xavier locks the door to the coffee shop with akey. He pockets the key and walks towards his Audi 100 Cr and unlocks the door with the car key. He gets in the driver's seat. Maria at the passenger's seat and Calvin at the back seat. He turns on the ignition and speeds away. Meanwhile, back his bedroom, his telephone on the nightstand rings loudly. After a few rings, it goes straight to voicemail.
Xavier goes straight to voicemail. Beatrice leaves a message for him. "Call me back when you hear this. It's very important. It's about Jordan,"Terrified Beatrice says.
She sits on her undressed bed and runs her fingers through her curly brown hair. What could Jordan have gotten himself into? Despite living in an authoritative regime, she tried her best to shelter Jordan from the harsh reality of this world.
She mustn't act hastily. Those guards could be outside of her home, watching her. She just needs to wait for Xavier. He will know what to do. He saved them both during the Great m******e twenty two years ago. She knows he can help her.
Jordan blinks his eyes open and his eyes are hit with the bright morning sun.. He squeezes them shut before gently blinking them open again. The sound of the flowing cool river and the cool air invades his senses. He is lying down at the river bank. His clothes are damp and his shoes are wet. He rests his hand on the ground so he can sit up and a sharp pain shoots through his arm. He winces loudly and takes a look at the source of his pain. It's his wrist. The claw marks are reddish and swollen, now oozing milky substance. A painful cough escapes his throat. He walks over to the river to drink from it.
Getting to the river, he sees his reflection. His lips are pale blue and his eyes are a bit reddish. He believes the infected wound is the reason for his plight. The guard must have somehow infected him when he was grabbed. He has to get out of here and to a hospital.
After drinking the cool water to his heart's content, he checks his pocket and feels his mobile phone. Relieved, he takes it out and turns it on. Unfortunately it does not turn one. Jordan sighs. He pockets his phone back. Jordan looks around, hoping he can find his camera. He sees it a bit far from him. He runs towards it and picks it up. It has also been damaged. He opens the memory card slot and finds the memory card still intact. Hopefully, the memory card still works when he checks it with his laptop. He shoves his hand in his back pocket but can't find anything. He touches his front pockets but nothing.
"Where's my wallet?" Jordan looks around but can't find the brown leather wallet anywhere. it must have been carried by the water current. Jordan turns around seeing only tall pine trees all around him. He goes straight ahead.
The Audi 100 C1 parks near Beatrice's house. Xavier, Maria and Calvin come out. They walkstowards Beatrice' house. Getting there, Beatrice opens the door.
"I'm so glad you're here. You must have seen my voicemail." Beatrice is relieved to see Xavier here so quickly.
"What voicemail?" Xavier looks confused.
Beatrice notices this, "Come inside first."
Xavier, Maria and Calvin enter her home before she closes the door. Beatrice leads the visitors into her living room.
"What's the problem? Why do you look terrified?" Xavier asks.
"Because the dark alpha guards were here. Jordan is missing, Xavier and they told me he helped a fugitive."
"What? Impossible! Jordan is not like such."
"Exactly what I said. But they told me to call them when he returns."
"Have you called him?"
Beatrice nods, "Yes, I called so many times but his number isn't reachable."
Beatrice takes a seat, she can't handle this anymore, "Have you heard of any fugitive, Xavier?"
Xavier looks at Maria and back at Beatrice, "I really don't know. Were you told what sort of fugitive he helped? A kidnapper? robber?" He sits down.
"Nothing. I was told absolutely nothing." Then Beatrice is calm enough to notice Maria and Calvin in the living room.
"Who are they?" Maria points at them.
"Beatrice, the time has come."
Beatrice places her hand on her forehead, "You told me that by being here in Vander you have averted the prophecy."
"No man can run from his destiny, Beatrice. We both knew this day would come."
"But we don't even know where he is." Beatrice shakes her head.
"Did he tell you where he went?"
"Yes, he went to the Vander Woods to take pictures last night."
"The woods?" Maria places her hand on her chest. It can't be the same person.
"Yes. Why?" Beatrice slowly stands up.
"A man helped me last night in the woods. He saved my life."
"Where is he?" Xavier asks.
"I don't know. I left him there. I had no idea." Maria chokes on her woods, "I was so bent on finding the True Alpha that I completely..."
"So you are the fugitive they were talking about." Beatrice points at Maria.
"Beatrice, calm down. What we need to focus on right now is finding Jordan." Xavier stands up, "Maria, you stay here with Beatrice in case he comes back. Tell Calvin to come with me. I should be able to find Jordanin the woods."
Maria nods, "Calvin, Go with Xavier and protect him with your life."
Calvin bows his head, "Yes, Luna."
Xavier and Calvin leave the house.
Soon the tension grows thick between Maria and Beatrice.
"I'm sorry. Had I known, I wouldn't have..." Maria rubs her palms nervously.
"Don't worry. It's not your fault. Where are you from?"
"I'm from Shindora. I'm a Luna Wolf."
Beatrice recognizes her species, "You're those wolves that hypnotise people."
"Yes."
"I'm not a werewolf but Jordan's father was one." Beatrice musters a smile at the sudden remembrance of Jordan's father, Mishael was recruited to join Alpha Garrick's army when Beatrice was just seven months old pregnant with Jordan. He lost his life in one of Alpha Garrick's senseless wars.
"You shouldn't hide your son away from his destiny. He was born for great things."
"I know my son is special but is it wrong that I don't want him to be in danger just because he has a destiny? I could lose him. Alpha Garrick has humans, werewolves and other means of protecting himself but who does Jordan have?"
"He has you, me, Lord Wolf Xavier and so many others that would give up their lives once they know the True Alpha has risen to defeat the tyrant Garrick."
Beatrice inhales deeply, "I just want my baby to be save."
"I will protect him with my life." Maria promises.
Xavier's car is parked near the entrance of the Vander Woods. Him and Calvin walk through the entrance. Soon they are deep inside the woods, passing through scurrying squirrels and birds on the tall pine trees. of the trees.
"We'll get lost at this point," Xavier says. He stops and closes his eyes. Xavier places his fingers to the temple of his head. As he inhales, a wave of circular bands spreads in the air, releasing a white glowing psychic power capable of locating whoever he wishes. The psychic waves levitate deeper and deeper until it locates Jordan dragging his feet tiredly as he limps through the woods.
Xavier removes his fingers from his temple and opens his eyes.
"Found him."
Xavier and Calvin run deeper into the woods.
"It seems Jordan is ill of some sort. Did you injure you?"
"No, Lord Wolf." Calvin replies.
"For our sakes I hope so."
Xavier sights a limp body on the ground.
"There he is." Xavier points. Calvin sprints faster towards Jordan. He kneels beside the body and turns the body over. Xavier reaches and looks at the body. It's Jordan. With a very pale face and blue lips. Calvin checks for Jordan's breath. Fear clouds his eyes.
"He's not breathing," Calvin says.
