“Your plan worked so perfectly as you predicted,” said Conor while smirking. He was reclining on his chair while enjoying their snacks.
“You never fail to amaze me, Alpha. Your way of dealing with the problem is one of a kind. If it was us, we will just either hide or ask for someone’s help.” Even Serio was amazed by the way she did to the crazy man. At his age, no one made him admire a person.
“It's nothing,” she simply said while enjoying the food Maria prepared for them.
They were all in the pack office and having a small snack while discussing the things they did a week ago. They were here because they're meeting the family they helped and they will discuss their decision.
The thing they were talking about was the crazy man who revealed their bad deeds. It spread to every pack and everyone couldn’t believe it. They were looking up to the Lycans, but now it was the opposite. But even though they criticized them, they couldn’t do anything at all. Lycans were powerful for them to fight.
“Still not enough,” Angelique voiced out. They knew she was cooking another plan inside her head. So they just ate and waited for what was next. They will just focus on their training because what they did was still not enough.
‘Knock-knock’
A knock on the wooden door made Angelique came back to the present. She remembered why she was in her office.
“Come in!" she called out.
Slowly, the door opened and she saw her secretary’s head and he entered.
He bowed his head. “The family is here, Alpha,” he informed her.
She took a man as her secretary because she didn’t want any conflict with her office. She knew how women compete with each other to get her.
“Let them in,” Conor answered for her as he stood upon the Alpha’s back. Serio also stood up and walked on the corner where the sofa was and sat on it.
“Good morning, Alpha!” Everyone greeted her with a bow.
When they all looked up, they were amazed by Alpha’s office. Her office was concrete and huge so that if she held meetings with important people it won’t be a hassle. The color was blue and white that was refreshing to their eyes. This building was two stories and equipped with different things they didn't see before.
It was just television for the CCTV they put all over the place and other controlling devices. The building was also equipped with other weapons that can really protect them in case of emergency.
“Good morning. Please, take a seat.” They all nodded and sat on the chair and sofa that was available in front of Alpha’s desk. Also, the secretary gave them some snacks that were made by Maria. The kids took some and they enjoyed it.
“Mr. Augur, I assume that you have already made the decision,” Conor said.
Mr. Augur looked at the persons in front of him. The Alpha, Angelique Guerrero, was a woman but a powerful one, with blue eyes, a Goddess-like face, and a height that can be compared to men. Conor Lucroy, the right-hand man, has almost the same blue eyes, a bearded man, but with a gentle face. Serio Fang, her other right-hand man, has white hair with white eyes that is distinct from the people of White Fang, and his face was a little strict.
Different people come together but there’s no conflict happening. The time his family stayed with them was the peaceful time they had experienced so far. It was really comfortable to stay there.
“Yes, I have decided, Alpha.” He looked at his family, and his wife smiled at him. Whatever her husband will decide, she won’t disagree. “If you will let us, Alpha. We want to stay here. We have no other place to run to. If we go to Guslar, we don't know what will happen to us.”
“We understand your concerns, Mr. Augur. You are all welcome in here as long as you pledge your loyalty to our Alpha. It’s not a hard thing to follow since we didn’t require anything but just your loyalty. We also follow some rules but it's for your own good, especially for your children.” Conor spoke for his Alpha. Sometimes, Angelique didn't want to speak so much, so Conor spoke for her.
“What do you mean, Mr. Lucroy?" The man of the family asked him.
“All of you have to undergo training with Serio and me. It is for your own protection in case something will happen, especially now that Lycans are making their moves. We don’t know what they’re up to, so we just have to be ready.” He paused and looked at the kids. “Also, kids need to study at Guslar. All of us also need education but what we have is still not enough, so we got our education at Guslar.”
“Is that all?” his wife talked for the first time.
“That’s the important thing and you will know the other rule soon but it’s not that hard.”
“We can take that. We are staying if you let us,” the husband said in a warm tone.
“You are very welcome here, Mr. Augur.” Alpha stood up and lifted her hand for a handshake. “Welcome to White Blood Pack, Mr. Augur and family.”
Mr. Augur stood up and took the Alpha’s hand for a shaking hand. “Thank you, Alpha!” he said while smiling. The kids also screamed with joy.
Both sides were happy, the family got a place to stay while the pack saved an important person who can help them in the future.
However, Angelique didn't think about that. All she wanted was to save everyone she can. She didn’t want her ambitious father to succeed with whatever he wants.
Angelique wanted some air, so she left them with their little celebration because of the additional members they have. She left a message to her sibling before she went to the place she always went to unwind.
On her way, she chose to pass through the forest border. She never thought she was already near their land when she was still human.
She stopped.
Angelique didn’t know what to do. She wanted to take a look but also walked away from the painful memories. It’s been five years but the memories are still there. Hunting her, making her sad and lonely.
What if her mother was still alive? Were they still happy? What might be she doing right now?
There are so many ‘what ifs’ in her mind. But she couldn't do anything in her past. What happens may happen for a reason.
“Are you sure about this place, Eddie?" A woman's voice got Angelique back from her reverie.
It was still clear in her mind who this person is. She didn't know, but her inside felt something.
In the night, blue eyes flashed like a predator looking at its prey. The person didn't know what was waiting for them.
“Eddie, it was so dark. What if the tale is real? We will be food for a monster!” A woman exaggeratedly said.
“Are you still believing in that tale, Taylor? It's just an old rubbish tail of the elder to frighten the children.” Eddie didn’t believe in it. Also, that was the only time she got with Taylor, so he grabbed it. He had done it before, so he knew there won’t be any hassle to come.
“Okay. I believe you.” Taylor sat down on the fallen log. She saw how Eddie looked at her, and she liked that. “So, what are we gonna do here?”
Eddie sat down on her side and smirked. He got near her and kissed her on the lips. Taylor kissed him back. She let him do what he wanted from her.
They both were so engrossed with their activity that they never noticed a shadow circling them.
The sky was so dark, the air was so thick, and the sound of an owl gave an eerie feeling to the place. But these two humans didn’t think about it. All they wanted was to feed their lustful desire.
While Eddie was above Taylor, Taylor pushed him. She was frightened by what she saw.
“What's the matter, Taylor? What am I not doing good enough?” Eddie said, irritation could be heard in his tone. He tried to kiss her again but she pushed her again.
“Eddie, stop! We need to get out of here. I saw an eye." She was really afraid when she saw the eye looking at them not far away.
“Are you insane? It's just the two of us in here. It is just your imagination.” He tried to kiss her again but Taylor kept pushing her away.
“Eddie, I don’t want it anymore. I will go home." She stood up and gathered her scattered clothes. She couldn't stay in this place anymore.
“What?" He pulled Taylor back and slapped her. Taylor's eyes got wider because for the first time, someone hurt her.
“What did you do? Do you want to die?” She screamed to cover up how afraid she was. She was afraid of the unknown eyes she saw, but also afraid of the person who promised that will never hurt her.
“What? Do you think you can still get out of her and report me to your family?” He held her jaw with a tight grip that surely hurt her. “We are here because someone hired me to kill you. But of course, I won’t let you die without experiencing a wonderful night with me.” He smirked and licked Taylor's face. He also laughed like a maniac that made Taylor tremble because of fear.
“I can pay you. Double or even triple the price they offered. Ju-just let me go,” she proposed. She didn't know what to do anymore. All she had was the money from her parents.
“I don’t need it." With that, she forced Taylor again. He did something that made Taylor weak and full of bruises.
All of it was seen by a blue-eyed monster. She watched and enjoyed what the woman went through. But still, it was not enough.
Eddie was smoking while smugly looking at his victim. He never regretted what he did.
“Hope you enjoyed it, My Lady.” He mocked her as he laughed.
Taylor was on the floor, her bed was the dried leaves of the trees and the small branches that pierces her skin. The soil was also a little wet and she didn't know what’s in there. Dirty, like how she saw herself now.
‘Awoo'
A sound startled them both. Even Taylor who was hurt and the crying stopped and looked around them. From a distance, she saw those blue eyes again.
“Ah! No. Getaway!" She screamed while trying to stand up.
Eddie was so scared too. He rattled on wearing his pants again. He never cared about Taylor anymore, all he wanted was to get out of the forest.
But before he could run away, a shadow appeared in his back. A big claw took him in just a blink of an eye and blood flew to Taylor’s face. She witnessed what happened. She was sure now that it was the monster.
“No. No. Please, spare me. Please! I am sorry.” She said looking everywhere but all she could see was a dark forest. Leaves were so thick that only a small portion of the moonlight would pass through.
“What the matter, Taylor?" A voice asked in front of her.
Taylor looked at the owner of the voice with wide eyes. She couldn’t be wrong. She knew who she was.
“A-angelique, h-how?" she whispered, not knowing what to say. But she remembered that she needs help. “Angelique, there’s a monster in here. We need to go. Please, help me." She begged, still looking everywhere like a madwoman. She never cared if Angelique was just a ghost because she was dead, or he was true.
“A monster? I saw one and I am talking to her right now." She remarked that made Taylor mad.
“You pig! Help me to get out of here. I will pay you.”
“I don't need your money,” Angelique answered back with disdain.
“I will give you everything. We’re best friends, Angelique. Help me!" She was not asking anymore, but instead, she was demanding to Angelique.
“Really? We’re best friends? So, I have to help you to stop your suffering then.” Taylor rejoiced at what she heard. But… Angelique smirked as she sat down on the log where there's moonlight. She lifted her hands up and licked her bloody finger. “So, still need my help?”
Taylor saw it. She trembled in fear.
“Ahhh!” Taylor's scream woke up the animals in the forest. She didn't know where she got her strength but she stood up and ran away from her. She didn’t know where she was going.
Angelique stayed still until another scream was heard by the forest.
“Oops! I am sorry. I forgot to tell you that there's a trap, best friend.”
