When Two Beasts Fell in Love

Chapter 24

“Good morning, Ms. Guerrero!" a tall and full of makeup lady said. She looked at Angelique full of admiration and lust. It was the first time she saw Ms. Guerrero but she was already attracted to her. 

“Hmm," Angelique hummed and looked at her, asking about her meeting with Mr. Leo Lucroy, Conor’s son. But Angelique got irritated with the way the lady looked at her. “Where is your boss?” she asked again, but this time it was more serious and dangerous that made the secretary scared and trembling.

The lady shivered when she heard her say it. She got back to her senses after. She cleared her dry throat and straightened her clothes to look professional. 

“Mr. Lucroy was already waiting for you in his office, Miss. Please, follow me, Ms. Guerrero.” She walked first to the waiting elevator. Angelique followed her without any more opinion. 

Angelique was oblivious to her surroundings. Men or women, they always stared at her even in her back. They were all mesmerized by her beauty. For them, she was like a Goddess that just visited her mortal followers. 

Men wanted to claim her, while women were envious of her beauty and also craved to be tasted by those sinful lips. She’s a face that anyone wanted to possess, in a different way. 

Bees scattered everywhere when the elevator closed and started to lift off.  No one spoke inside but the lady always took a glimpse of an expressionless woman. 

She wore a suit for women that added to her appeal. Her long hair was in a ponytail that exposed her smooth neck. No makeup on her face but her lips were naturally red that attracted anybody to have a taste. Add more to it was her fierce blue eyes. Everyone was attracted to her but afraid to be near her. 

A few minutes later, they reached the highest floor where the president of the office resides. When the elevator’s door opened, the lady, or rather the secretary, walked out first. Angelique followed while looking around her. 

The building was made up of glass and you could see the outside. Being there felt like you were up in the sky. The atmosphere was so good. 

There was also some well-known painting and out of this world vases that surely cost a fortune. She knew that Conor is well-known, but now she realized that’s not at all. They were really famous and wealthy. 

She was awakened from her sightseeing when she heard the secretary knocked on the door. 

“Come in!” someone shouted from the inside. 

The secretary opened the door a little, entered her head in the small space, and asked. “Ms. Guerrero is here, Sir. Will I let her in?” she politely asked like a professional she is.

“Oh, yes. Let her in!” You could hear the excitement in his voice. 

The secretary looked at her and nodded as she opened the door more. Angelique just nodded back and walked inside. 

There, she saw a smiling man. He almost looked like his father if not with her blue-gray eyes. They almost have the same body built except he was really younger looking. 

“Come in,” he invited. She walked inside and sat on the chair in front of Mr. Lucroy’s desk. The secretary asked if they wanted anything, but both of them shook their head no. The secretary went out after.

The guy stood up and held his hands up for a handshake. “Nice to finally meet you, Ms. Guerrero.” Angelique held his waiting hand and gave him a handshake.

“Likewise,” she only said. 

“Please, have a seat.” They all sat down. “So, what can I help you, Ms. Guerrero? My father already informed me but it is still different when it comes from your mouth.” 

Angelique nodded and leaned on a soft chair. His room was colored white and blue, refreshing to her eyes. 

“I want to expand our property, but the land I want to acquire was owned…” she didn’t know what to say. “Okay. That land was ours but taken by our relatives after the incident. I wanted to buy the land. But I didn't want them to see my face. If why? Your father is busy and you are the only one who is known to Guslar. They won’t say no to you.” 

He nodded in understanding. If they took another werewolf, who was not used to the scent of humans, they might just reveal themselves. “Okay. I will take them for you. I have a question though.” 

“Fire away.”

“Why are you expanding and why all the land on the border?” he curiously asked. 

“So no one will go out of the border. You know what I have been planning. This is to ensure what will happen inside Arcadia will remain in Arcadia.” Without saying it, Angelique only wants the safety of Guslar. 

“Okay. I will help you, along with other lands.” He agreed. 

“Good, and thank you, Mr. Lucroy.” Then they shake hands for the business that is done. 

“It is good to know someone who made farming becomes easy to do. After a few months of being an Alpha, their lives improve to the fullest, and your members adding every day.” What he said was true. 

Farming became easy because of Angelique’s invention. They didn’t have to do it manually but at once it was already done. But the cost is not affordable by many. 

“I am just doing my job,” she humbly said, making him smile. He could tell that she is a good woman except her expression was so serious. “So, I have to go.” 

They both said their pleasantry goodbye and Angelique went back home. She rode a not so expensive car and went to her farm. 

When she got there, she went inside her office.  She still needed to sort out all their expenses, from animals, labor, and farm. Also where the sale went to. 

Being an Alpha brought big responsibility. So, she also did some paperwork for the pack. 

What a busy day for Angelique. She thought of getting a secretary, accountant for the pack and the farm. But it should come from their pack rather than a human who might know their secrets. They still needed to be careful. 

But for now, she got herself busy.
