Alpha Jackson's Pov
I was still wondering and thinking about what had happened because, as you know, it isn't easy to get over the past.
Then I heard battle cries outside my pack.
What the heck was going on? Because I don't remember having an issue with any pack that would warrant war or maybe they are rogues. Even at that, the rogues fear my pack as I don't look for trouble and always want the countenance of peace.
My door burst open almost immediately and a few gamma's which I recognized as Silver Moon packs marched inside with their Alpha…..A woman??
These were the last species I wanted to see right now… this gender…fear them..fear women.
"Who dares to defile my order?." I growled before catching sight of them.
"Thanks for the very warm welcome, Alpha Jackson." She replied in a sing-song voice that somehow reminded me of Hailey.
"And who are you?." Though I had a hint, I wanted to be sure of who I was handling.
"Well, I'm Alpha Nyra, leader and ruler of the Silver Moon pack." She announced what I was already aware of.
"And to what do I owe this unexpected visit?" I asked with venom in my voice. With the way I was feeling, and my growing hatred for women, I could slit her throat at any moment now.
"Relax, I only came here for us to discuss business." She said without answering my question.
"I said what I owe this unexpected visit!!!!" I growled as my wolf was crying to let out, but I had to keep him in check.
When she saw I wasn't buying any of her peace talks, she became serious and furious. What I hated more was the audacity. She barged into my room and was still behaving sassy and bitchy and foolish, forgetting I could end her here and now.
"I want you, like you to merge your pack with mine, then I'll lead as the supreme ruler and, just to be nice, I'll make you my second in command." She finally said and I couldn't help but chuckle in amusement.
"That was quite a good joke you cracked there," I said, laughing my lungs out before changing my expression.
"And who said I was making a joke?" She asked, looking rather confused.
"Listen to yourself Nyra," I said, purposely omitting the word Alpha, "to yourself, don't you sound funny?." I asked, trying to control my laughter.
"Alpha Jackson, I'm giving you 12 hours to make up your mind else you won't love the sight of your pack. Just look out your window and see what's going on down there, then think of what would happen if you didn't give consent now that I'm asking peacefully." She explained with a slight smirk on her face that infuriated me.
I let my gaze wander to the window and when I looked down, there was a stampede. A blood-bathed battle was ongoing down there and my subjects were losing their lives.
I could feel the anger rising in my veins and I had to shut my eyes so I could think straight. I immediately mind-linked my Beta, who said that the people who were dead weren't the pack members but rouges that were kept as prisoners in my pack.
I was immensely impressed. My beta, Skyler, indeed deserved an award.
I stared at Nyra and her minions again and chuckled, which made Nyra angrier.
"Alpha Jackson, what do you say to this?" She enquired.
"Leave my pack this instant before I unleash doom on you," I growled as my wolf readied himself.
"That's it then, you don't even deserve 12 hours to think because it's obvious you're senseless." She stated, shooting me a hard glower as she shifted to her wolf form.
As she shifted, her minions also did the same and took up defensive positions, but the truth was that I wasn't even moved a bit by their stances.
Nyra howled and came surging forward, throwing her whole body at me as she aimed to claw my face. I then drew out a sliver from my shoe wedge and slit her stomach, then her intestine poured out, making the battle come to an abrupt end as her minions stared in horror.
In pain, she shifted to her human form as the life drained out of her. Her minions scampered away in fright but I immediately mind-linked my Beta to make sure none of them left the pack house alive and Skyler immediately carried out the orders.
"Nyra, you came to this pack at bad timing. Now look what you've done to my floor," I said, making a disgusted face.
"Aren't you going to get up there and wipe off this blood?" I queried, enjoying the feeling of watching a female die.
Somehow, I began wishing it was Hailey I was watching, it would have felt so nice to watch her die slowly and painfully.
The only reason Nyra was still alive and in distress was because she was an Alpha and I enjoyed every bit of her groans and screams and pleas…
And soon enough she died. What a waste!!
I mind-linked my Beta to come to my room immediately.
~~ a Few Minutes later~~
"You sent for me, Alpha," he said, in a low yet firm voice.
"Send some Omega's to clean up this mess," I ordered in a hoarse voice.
"Yes, Alpha." He replied with a sarcastic tone to his voice that I quickly noticed.
"What's wrong with you? Whatever just know, I'm still your Alpha though." I stated, not ready for one of Skyler's arguments.
"Now tell me what I'm supposed to answer. You're a dumbass, Alpha." He said, stressing the last word 'Alpha' just to piss me off.
"Just get out already," I said, smiling sheepishly.
"I have no idea why you're blushing…you're f*****g supposed to be drowning somewhere in the Atlantic. After all, you're still mourning your wife's death." Skyler teased with a scrutinizing look.
"Wife's death??? Now I'm confused! Did Hailey die?" I asked confusedly.
"Is this not your wife?" He asked, winking at me as he gestured towards Nyra.
I stood up from bed immediately and he ran out laughing like a 10-year-old kid.
Woah, my Beta is the best. Over the years, we have changed from friends to brothers, so I'm comfortable showing him my weaknesses because he makes me forget about my past. He has sworn not to get a mate until I get a mate. A bad fate for both of us. We might remain single forever.
"There are some intruders in space again, Jackson," Skyler announced as he walked into my room.
