It was a lot but she's not going to stop until she gets all the answers she wants and I would give her as many as I could without scaring her to much.
"O.. o... Kay so you are saying that my mom wasn't my mom she was my nanny and that you knew this whole time and didn't stop her! Thats kidnap and you just what? Went along with it? Why?" She's having a hard time wrapping her head around all of this, but alteast she is trying to understand. I try to put my hand on hers to comfort her but she pulls away and turns her head.
"Valerie I am sorry that I didn't stop all this a long time ago but you were safe with her and had a good life. I didn't want the pressure of being a Moore to ruin your childhood and take your freedom. It is a lot to put on a child's shoulders and you didn't need that." She whips her head back arounf staring at me, tears in those ocean eyes. my heart breaks a little. I never like seeing her cry.
"I dont understand any of this" I abruptly stand up and walk out of the room heading to the linen closet. I pull out one of her blankets and bring it back. She has already curled up in a ball. I cover her in a blanket.
"We can talk more after you sleep princess." I couldn't resist and I kissed her forehead and start to walk away when she grabs my wrist. Her eyes are closed and her breathing is slow. She mumbles something about wanting a shower but she is already half asleep. I sit down on the bed with her hold still firm on my wrist and not wanting to disrupt her sleep.

I feel the bed dip and the warmth from where I grabbed his wrist. I dont know why I did, but I just dont want to be alone right now and he is the only one around. I curl up against him and fall asleep.
My dreams are filled with nightmares as usual, blood everywhere and people I dont know screaming at me to run. Like every time I can't move my feet. something is keeping me in place, and I can never get free. I'm screaming when the fire starts. It always does, and I can never escape it. Slowly, it burns closer and closer to me, I feel the heat at my feet first slowly burning its way up my calves and to my thighs, but this time someone new is here. He's here. Even in my nightmares I can't get away from him. Lyx. he stands in front of me and whispers "Run" and for the first time, I do. I escape. My reoccurring nightmare of 15 years ends, I shoot up. Tears streaming down my face and I am alone. I look over and the spot that Lyx was in is cold. I stretch and get out of bed. There is a note taped to my phone
*I put my number in your phone, we are not done.*
I look at my phone and I have 2 unread messages. One from an unknown number and another labeled Lysander. As I unlocked my phone, I wonder how he got it open without my password and an image of him trying to use my fingerprint while I was sleeping to unlock my phone pops in my head. I giggle to myself.
I open the message from Lyx first
*Sleep well Valerie. I had to go deal with some things, I will be back later today. please take care of yourself, I know yesterday was a lot. I promise to continue answering any question you have.*
There was a picture on me as a baby, 2 people I didn't know and Lyx... the exact same as he is now. Like hasn't changed one bit. He is standing in the back looking at me with those emerald eyes, and the other 2 are hold me. Everyone in the picture seems so happy. I look at the baby picture I have hanging on the wall, and I am wearing the same outfit, and the picture has the same background. As freaked out as I am, I just can't seem to let it bother me. Too much has happened. I dont think anything could surprise me at this point.
I back out of the message and open the one marked as unknown.
*Hello Valerie, this is Officer Reynolds. I am sorry I wasn't able to explain things further before Mr.Grimm showed up. However I know some of what he was going to discuss and I would like to tell you that it is all true. You were reported missing at age 3 and Susan moved to town when you were 4. before I was able to do anything about it. Mr. Grimm showed up and asked for the case to be closed and that you should not be located. He explained to me why and it was a family matter so I was able to close the case.* Attached were pictures of me through the years and a case file labeled missing: Valerie Moore.
I text back hoping to get more answers from him before Lyx came back.
*What do you mean a family matter. My parents didn't want me back?*
*Valerie, Mr.Grimm closed the case because he is your family. Did he not tell you? He is your brother*
*My brother? No! He didn't say that!* My brother? My brother let some lady take me and keep me from my parents! Why?
*He is not blood related though, he was adopted by your parents before they had you. It is hard to explain, and I am sure Mr. Grimm would prefer if I left that to him. I am sorry have a good day*
Great now I am left with even more questions and more answers that make no sense! The rest of the day I go through things in the house while I dreadfully wait for Lyx to return. I did try texting him to ask him when he was coming, but he never responded.
