“Don’t defy me, Elena. Give yourself to me,” he said, his voice low controlled, but laced with a dangerous edge.

Her breath caught. It wasn’t just his words, but the certainty behind them, as if her resistance meant nothing.

“No… I won’t. I don’t want this. Please,” she cried, hands trembling as she pressed them together in desperation, clutching the fabric of her dress as though it could somehow protect her.

A slow, chilling smirk curved his lips. “You don’t get a choice. I bought you. You belong to me now.”

His gaze moved over her with calculated intent, unhurried, dominant before settling on her face again, as if studying every trace of fear she tried to hide.

Meet two opposites souls

Elena Hayes has learned the hard way that trust is dangerous. Betrayed by those closest to her, she has built her life around caution and emotional walls. Yet beneath her guarded exterior is a woman who still believes, against everything she’s endured, that true love only happens once and lasts forever.

Alessandro DeLuca is a name whispered in fear across Italy’s underworld. A ruthless mafia king, he rules through power, control, and silence. Cold-hearted and unyielding, he believes emotions are weaknesses and love is nothing more than an illusion that makes people easy to destroy.

When their worlds are forced into collision through a binding arrangement neither of them chooses, neither is willing to yield.

She refuses to break.

He refuses to soften.

But in a world built on blood, loyalty, and power, nothing remains simple for long.

Will Elena be the one to uncover the humanity buried beneath Alessandro’s darkness…

or will Alessandro drag her into a world where love and ruin become indistinguishable?

The Beginning of the End
Dressed in a lovely pink dress that fell just above her knees, paired with a thin silver necklace and a bracelet that chimed softly with every movement, she stepped into a small gift boutique. The faint tinkling sound from her bracelet echoed gently. Her golden-brown eyes shimmered brightly, and her long hair flowed smoothly behind her as she walked. “What can I help you find today, Elena dear?” the elderly shopkeeper asked kindly. The girl turned toward her, her face lighting up instantly. “I’m looking for something special for my boyfriend, grandma.” The older woman smiled at her warmly. Elena often came by, always searching for gifts for her boyfriend, Adrian Cole. It was his birthday today. “How much have you managed to put aside this time, sweetheart?” the old woman asked with quiet concern. “Not really much,” Elena replied, her lips forming a small pout. “I’ve been saving from my pay for six months now, but it still feels like it’s not enough.” “You really should start putting yourself first too,” the woman said, her forehead creasing slightly. “I know, grandma,” Elena answered, her eyes scanning the shelves carefully. “That’s why I work at the coffee shop to handle both my expenses and Adrian’s.” The old lady shook her head subtly, feeling sorry for the girl’s innocence. She could clearly see what Elena refused to notice that her boyfriend depended entirely on her earnings while enjoying a carefree life. “Oh look, grandma!” Elena suddenly exclaimed, picking up a delicate glass ornament. Inside it was a finely crafted figure of a couple, surrounded by soft lighting and intricate details. “I want to get him this. Do you think he’ll like it?” “It’s beautiful, my child. I’m sure he’ll love it,” the woman replied, masking her true thoughts. Deep inside, she knew the man didn’t value Elena’s affection, only what she provided financially. Carefully, Elena pulled out all the money she had saved over the past six months, money she had set aside by sacrificing her own needs and handed it over. Taking the gift, she left the shop, her heart filled with excitement. She skipped and twirled happily as she stepped outside, thrilled to have found the perfect present for Adrian’s twenty-third birthday. ‘I told Adrian I wouldn’t come home tonight, that I’d be staying over at Mia’s place,’ she thought with a soft giggle. ‘He’s going to be so surprised.’ Still smiling to herself, she made her way toward the apartment she shared with him, just a short distance from the café where she worked. She had made friends there Mia and Zoe but Mia was the one she trusted the most. Lost in her thoughts, she arrived at her building and stood in front of the elevator, waiting for it to come down. After a few seconds, impatience took over, and she decided to take the stairs instead. Moving quickly, she began climbing, eager to reach upstairs. After ten minutes of climbing, she was completely out of breath, her chest rising and falling rapidly but she didn’t stop. Finally, she reached the ninth floor, panting heavily. The moment she saw her apartment door, a smile spread across her face again. Her exhaustion seemed to disappear instantly. She hurried toward it and pulled out the spare key from her small handbag resting on her shoulder. Quietly unlocking the door, she stepped inside, careful not to make any noise. She walked softly toward the living room, expecting to find Adrian playing games but the room was empty. She checked the kitchen. Then the balcony. Still nothing. ‘Where could he be?’ she wondered silently. Deciding to check the bedroom, she slowly pushed the door open and peeked inside. What she saw made her freeze completely. The gift slipped from her hands. The glass ornament crashed onto the floor, breaking into countless tiny shards just like her heart in that moment. Tears immediately filled her eyes and streamed down her cheeks as she began to sob uncontrollably. She felt numb. Completely empty. Never had she imagined witnessing something like this. Her boyfriend, Adrian, was in bed with her best friend… Mia. The sharp sound of glass breaking caught their attention. Mia quickly wrapped herself in the bedsheet, standing stiffly, while Adrian hurriedly dressed himself before turning toward Elena. “Don’t you know how to knock?!” he snapped angrily. “Why… Did you do this?” Elena asked, her voice hollow, her eyes blank. “You already know why,” he replied coldly, without a trace of guilt. “But you promised me… you said you wouldn’t cheat again,” she cried, her voice breaking as fresh tears fell. He walked up to her and grabbed her shoulders tightly, shaking her slightly. “I had to, Elena. I’m a man I have needs.” “Then you should have told me!” she shouted, pulling his hands away. “Told you?” he scoffed. “You should’ve understood that on your own. I waited for years.” “I wasn’t ready for that,” she said weakly, wiping her tears. “Well, I was from the very beginning, you i***t,” he snapped harshly. “So you betrayed me?” she whispered, then turned toward Mia. “And you… you were my best friend, weren’t you?” “Don’t make it such a big deal, Elena,” Mia said casually. “It was just a one-time thing.” “How could you both do this to me?!” she cried louder, unable to believe how indifferent they sounded. She moved toward Adrian and started hitting his chest with her fists as she cried. “Why did you do this? You were my everything… my forever… why?” He caught her wrists and pushed her back. “Oh, stop being dramatic,” he said dismissively. “It’s not that serious. We can still be together you just need to give me another chance.” “NO!” she screamed at the top of her lungs. “I gave you a chance before, and you did the same thing again. I don’t want to be with you anymore,” she said through her tears, her voice filled with pain and disbelief. She glared at both of them before turning away. Without another word, she left the apartment. Taking the elevator this time, she went down to the ground floor and stepped out of the building. Everything inside her felt empty. She had nowhere to go. No one to turn to. She was completely alone. It hurt. It hurt so deeply. This wasn’t even the first time Adrian had betrayed her. Elena a name that matched her perfectly. She was beautiful in every way. Innocent, a little clumsy, honest, kind, trusting… and painfully naive. She lived in Manhattan with her boyfriend, Adrian Cole. She had left her parents behind in another town after they disowned her for choosing him. They had never approved of Adrian. They believed that, with time, she would realize his true intentions and walk away. But Elena believed he was her soulmate forever. When her parents refused to accept their relationship, she chose him over them. She moved away with Adrian to New York, where they began living together. The apartment they shared was paid for entirely by her. She worked at a café, earning enough to support both of them, while Adrian stayed home without a job, never feeling the need to work as long as she provided everything. At the café, she met Mia and Zoe. Although she wasn’t very close to Zoe, Mia became her closest friend, the one she trusted with everything. But now… What was she supposed to do? The two people she trusted the most had betrayed her. Where could she go? In a city this large… She knew no one.
