1 - The Beginning
“I’m sorry, Chelsea; I need to get away from Bay’s Beach,” Amanda said, lying on the bed in her best friend’s bedroom. “With everything that’s happened, I can’t be here anymore. Besides, I want to do something with my life and get use of the administration diploma I studied for. I’m going to Peninsula tomorrow and there’s nothing more you can say to me about it.”
“He was so gutless, only sending you a text message. The least he could have done is face you,” Chelsea voiced her opinion for the millionth time, rolling her eyes at Amanda as she sat on her bed. Amanda was heartbroken and pissed at how her fiancé of 3 years, Peter broke it off with her. Yes, they didn’t set a date for the wedding; but that was Peter’s fault, not Amanda’s. Amanda had a suspicion he wasn’t being faithful, long before the text message and Chelsea constantly reminded her of that fact. “I did tell you, I thought Vonny and Peter were spending too much time together. They are both cowards.”
Chelsea, Veronica and Amanda were inseparable growing up in the small beachside community. They met in elementary school and grew up together and as everyone was saying: It was a pity a man had put a wedge between the trio. “I know Chels,” Amanda sighed, sitting down on the edge of the bed as the two girls had another heart-to-heart. “I am also aware of the whispers behind my back. 'Poor Mandy having Peter dump her like that.' 'Can you believe Veronica? Throwing away a friendship that’s lasted almost two decades,' and those are the good whispers.”
“That’s why you need to come to Dean’s Bar. Besides, I don’t want to go alone,” Chelsea pouted, batting her eyelids at Amanda, while Amanda groaned at her best friend. The truth of the matter, Chelsea was worried about Amanda locking herself away and this was her last chance to get her to live a little.
“What about Jamie? Doesn’t he want to go?” Amanda asked, pushing herself off the bed, and stretching her arms over her head. Jamie was Chelsea’s on-again; off-again boyfriend, and at the moment, they were on again.
“Nah, he’s out of town for some photography portfolio he has to do. I just want to go out and have a few drinks with my best friend since she isn’t going to be here for much longer,” Chelsea replied, her hazel eyes giving Amanda a sad puppy dog look, while Amanda groaned again.
“Ok, ok. I’ll go,” Amanda caved, throwing her hands up in defeat as Chelsea bounced up and down on the bed, her mousy brown hair bobbing around her shoulders. “But only for a few drinks. I have to leave early tomorrow for the train station.”
“I have the perfect dress you can borrow. It will set off your blue eyes,” Chelsea said, ignoring her friends begging to leave early, while grinning from ear to ear as she got off the bed and headed to the closet, pulling out a blue dress and turning back to Amanda.
“I don’t know, it looks expensive,” Amanda murmured, shaking her auburn hair from side to side; her last attempt at an excuse to not go, falling on deaf ears as Chelsea placed the blue cocktail dress in front of her to show her how it would fit perfectly. Not that she need and excuse, both girls were the same size and always borrowed each other’s clothes.
“This old thing? Nah. Jamie brought it for me, and you know how much of a cheapskate he is,” Chelsea replied, handing the dress to Amanda to go and get changed. “You can have it. It suits you more than it suits me.”
Amanda sighed again and walked into the ensuite bathroom Chelsea had in her room. “I don’t know; it’s a bit short,” Amanda called through the doorway as she shimmied her way into the dress, still trying to forego the decision to go to the bar.
“That’s the point,” Chelsea yelled as Amanda walked out of the bathroom, pulling the back of the dress down as low as it would allow her to. “It’s perfect,” she added with a smile as she charged her way to the bathroom to change into an emerald green off the shoulder piece.
By the time Amanda finished putting on her makeup, the butterflies were starting to settle in her stomach. She hadn’t been out since Peter sent her the text message, breaking off their engagement. Bay’s Beach was a small town, and everyone knew what had happened. She loved living there, but she was over the whispers regarding how things ended and the rumours that had been spread around by Peter and Veronica. “You’ll be fine,” Chelsea said, giving Amanda a side hug, trying to ease her tension as they both headed out the front door to the waiting the one and only Uber in town.
“Mandy, nice to see you out and about,” Dean called from behind the bar as she and Chelsea walked into his establishment.
“This is her going away celebration. Keep the drinks coming, Dean,” Chelsea shouted as Dean took over Amanda’s Bacardi Spritzer and Chelsea’s Flaming Cowboy, while the pair nestled themselves into a nearby booth.
“Who’s that?” Amanda asked, seeing a gorgeous man come through the front door with his group of friends. His brown shoulder-length hair was brushed back as his chocolate-brown eyes surveyed the room, landing on Amanda’s blue eyes and giving her a smile.
“I don’t know. I think he was at the high-end wedding that came up for the weekend,” Chelsea whispered as Amanda’s heart sank at hearing who he was. The first guy she had noticed since Peter, was off limits. No rich man will look at a girl from a small town like Bay’s Beach.
“Here’s to seeing someone off limits. Story of my life,” Amanda giggled, tilting her Bacardi spritzer towards Chelsea who clinked her glass with her own before both girls took a sip.
Chelsea started to giggle, taking another sip of her drink when someone walked through the door; “Asshole alert; 10 o’clock,” Chelsea whispered as Amanda glanced at the doorway and shrinking into the booth.
No; this isn’t happening to me. How dare he come in here? I can’t believe he brought her with him, Amanda yelled inwardly, trying to move herself further into the booth and shrinking into the seat to hide herself. “Mandy; are you OK? Oh s**t!” Chelsea screamed as Amanda looked up, just in time to see Peter and Veronica stop in front of their booth.
“What the f**k do you want?” Amanda screamed at the pair before she could stop herself, causing everyone in the bar to go silent and glance her way. That’s all I need; an audience, she fumed in her mind. Not!
“Aren’t you going to offer us a seat?” Peter asked, smirking a pompous grin between the two ladies.
“I don’t have to do s**t, Peter. Do you think you can come here and it’s all hunky-dory? You broke off our engagement with me, through a text message, mind you. And you think you have the right to come here and talk to me. f**k off,” Amanda screamed, releasing all the built-up anger that she had let fester inside her, while the brown-haired man stood from his seat as his friend was asked him what he was doing?
“Calm down! There’s no need to be like…” “Be like what, exactly?” Amanda continued, cutting off Veronica as she stood up, getting ready to leave. She knew coming out wasn’t worth running into Peter, and it was going exactly how she thought it would. “You called yourself my friend while you were f*****g my fiancé behind my back, and you have the nerve to stand here and tell me to calm down? You are something, you know that?”
“Is everything OK, Sweet Pea?” A husky voice said, as Amanda felt the arms of the Greek god that she had noticed, coming around her waist before he pecked her on the cheek.
“Not really,” Amanda spat, glaring at her ex-fiancé and ex-best friend, deciding to play along with this man. “These people are annoying me.”
“And who are you?” Peter asked, narrowing his eyes and clenching his fists beside him.
“None of your f*****g business,” Amanda seethed, as Peter dropped his face, refusing to look at Veronica. “And cut the jealous act because we are over. Isn’t that what the text said? Sorry to do this to you, but I can’t keep going through the charade. I am in love with Vonny,” adding the last part in a mocking voice.
“I am Tobias Sommerville, the third. And you are?” Toby snapped, raising an eyebrow at Peter, entertained by how someone could do something like that to the prettiest woman he had seen in a long time.
“We better leave them, Petey,” Veronica cooed, slinking away to a nearby booth as Peter stood there, glaring at Toby for a few more moments before backing down and heading to Veronica.
Amanda was about to open her mouth to yell at Peter some more but was stopped by Toby. “Come Sweet Pea, I think this bar is getting overcrowded,” he said, taking her hand and leading her outside.
“I’ll see you tomorrow, before I leave,” Amanda yelled over her shoulder at Chelsea. She knows there is no hope for her now, but at least for a few moments she will have a god in her arms. “Where are we going?”
“Now you are officially in my arms, I thought we could do something together,” Toby answered, dragging Amanda outside as Amanda dropped her hands and took a few steps back.
“Um… Thanks for your help, Tobias. I do appreciate it. But I don’t think…” her train of thought leaving her mind as Toby kissed her hard on the lips.
Her mouth opened, allowing his tongue to find its way in; “Wrong answer,” Toby chuckled as the pair pulled apart. “And call me Toby. You say Tobias and I look around for my father.”
"It’s the only answer I have. I barely know…” Toby cut her off again with another kiss.
“Still wrong answer,” Toby smirked as Amanda tried to pull away from him. “I didn’t say you can go” he continued, grabbing her arm, and wrapping her in his embrace. Amanda looked at Toby, realizing she was a goner because she couldn’t think straight with Toby so close to her. What did he say again? He wants to do something together she thought to herself.
Amanda sighed, “What do you want to do?” she asked, admitting defeat and relieving the silence between them as Toby took her hand and walked across the road, towards the little motel he was staying at.
“I have a few ideas,” Toby chuckled, pulling a door key from his pocket and opening the door to his room. Amanda sucked in her breath as she looked at Toby’s features. Up close, he was more handsome than she originally thought. His strong features, dark chocolate-brown eyes and a dimple in his right cheek sent goosebumps up her arms as he pulled her close, kissing her again. His tongue searched for dominance in her mouth before his lips moved down her jawline, slowly moving to her neck as she groaned with anticipation.
“Toby,” Amanda moaned, his hands moving behind her and undoing the zip on the back of the dress. It fell to the floor as he laid her down on the bed.
Toby propped himself over the top of her, kissing her gently on the lips. “Sweet Pea, you need to tell me what you want,” Toby murmured into her neck as his hot breath sent the anticipation through her whole body.
“I want…” Amanda started to answer, undoing his pants and stroking his d**k causing Toby to groan into her mouth. “I want you,” she whispered as Toby removed her underpants, thrusting himself inside her.
Their bodies entwine as Toby moved his shaft in and out of Amanda’s core with her c****x building inside her body. “Toby” Amanda groaned softly.
“Yes, Sweet Pea,” Toby responded as he thrusted himself into her again.
“I’m going to c*m,” Amanda breathed heavily and Toby slowed his pace.
“Not yet,” he said, giving her another kiss and moving slowly as her o****m took hold, and she shouted out his name again. “Holy f**k!” Toby yelled, thrusting one last time before falling on top of Amanda. “You are one hell of a woman.”
“Me? No…” Amanda began to say before Toby lifted her chin and started kissing her again.
“Don’t sell yourself short to anyone. You are and will always be my Sweet Pea,” Toby muttered softly, pulling Amanda to straddle over him.
Amanda leaned down to kiss him again, while Toby’s d**k started twitching for a second round. She moved her body, opening her slit to him as Toby placed his tip at her entrance, and she pushed herself down onto his shaft before moving his d**k around her core while groaning his name. “Mandy, I want you to say it,” Toby said, slowing her movements as Amanda gave him a puzzled look.
“Say what?” Amanda asked as she tried to move his d**k around her core and he held her tight to stop her.
“I want you to say, you are one hell of a woman, and you are my Sweet Pea,” Toby said as Amanda moved herself around his shaft and he held onto her hips to stop her again. “Say it!” He demanded.
“I’m... I’m you’re… Sweet Pea,” Amanda screamed bouncing on Toby, and her o****m began to build as Toby flipped her onto the bed and continued thrusting his shaft into Amanda’s core.
“And are you one hell of a woman?” Toby asked, stopping his thrusts.
“Yes,” Amanda screamed, her o****m taking hold as Toby thrusted one last time into her.
