Chapter 27

Adaline's POV

Now that everything from lunch had officially come back up and Barrett was rubbing my back to calm me, I had a moment to think. HOW THE HELL IS THIS POSSIBLE and why? I am pissed now because my life was turned upside down before and I was hoping to be right side up again, but it seems I am now upside down and inside out. I want answers NOW. "Calm down Adaline, your getting yourself all worked up again and I dont think you have much left in you." He was now placing a cool towel on my forehead. I sighed "I know and I am sorry I am really trying to calm down. I'm just pissed, but let me get up and splash my face for a minute and we can head back in." He helped me stand and grabbed me a glass so I could rinse my mouth and we walked back in. I had no intentions of hiding how pissed I actually was, even with Barrett trying to calm me.

Renee handed me a mug of tea. "There are some oils in there for you to help your stomach and anxiety" she smiled and patted my shoulder. It smelled amazing and tasted even better. I am going to need this every morning "thank you but I really do need answers, I'm confused and angry and upset." I set the glass down and walked to the hanging mirror and looked at my reflection. I stared at myself although I looked a bit different, fuller maybe? However, looking still like myself, then I noticed my eyes. They had a glint of purple around the outside of my iris that was not there before. I opened my eyes wider, the room was dead silent and it looked like some were fighting to stand straight. Bennett and Barrett walked over to me and placed a hand on my shoulders. They smiled wide "Hello mate" except it was Shaw that said it. Barrett's eyes were deeper. I looked at them both confused, "Selena" Bennett said, smiling. "Wait what, wait, that's my wolf? She has purple eyes?" I looked back and they were gone and it seemed less tense in the room. "That was extremely draining to fight" Heather pipped up, "She made herself known for a moment, possibly to give Ad a bit of strength and let us all know she was actually here" Beck stated like she was just talking about some random thing.

"I am trying really hard to not freak out here, I need to get answers, is there any way I can head back home so I can speak to my grandfather and possibly get some clairty on what the hell is happening?" Renee seemed to be typing furiously on her phone "I'm on it, im booking the privite plane right now." Why does that surprise me, I really need to learn to not be amazed about this family I gigled to myself. "We can all go, Stephan and Thomas can you both stay behind and run things while we are gone, usually that would be Sam and Holden but I feel it best we have them as we really dont know what to expect and since they are current ranks we wont have to explain much." They both nodded and stood to leave Stephen stopped and turned to me smiling "Dont worry to much you are stronger than you know and will outshine us all" with that they all left, I smiled to myself I really do have a family here. "Stefan you and Elliot will be appointed to Stephan and Thomas while we are gone." I noticed he tensed up but nodded. "Actually I wouldn't mind Stefan with us, we have no idea what dangers are there as her parents and grandmother were killed protecting her there so I am worried the threat may still be around waiting for her to come back and see if she has shifted yet, with all the muscle we can have it is best. I also think it best you don't mark her until after we have come back, just to make sure she is 100% safe." Beck chimed in, but only looking at Stefan. I looked between the two. Something was off and I am pretty sure the others noticed it too. "Very well, Stefan, you are added, Mikayla, as much as I know you want to go with you being pregnant its best you hang back with the kids." Renee, still scrolling, said. "No. I want James to come. He hasn't met my grandfather as a bigger kid yet and there are something's there I need to grab for him, uhm that were Sabastians, plus his parents are there as well." Renee smiled "Of course he will be the most protected as long as we are all together, what about Sawyer, they can keep each other occupied?" Heather and Sam looked at eachother for a long moment, "Yeah lets bring him, hes never been off packlands and it will give Mikayla some alone time to actually breathe" Heather said and Mikayla smiled wide which made us all laugh. "Then its settled we will head out tomorrow morning everyone go and get packed" Renee barked out as an order everyone nodded and departed.

"I really hate it when she does that but she takes charge and organizes so well", Barrett said while shaking his head. I hadnt said much still just trying to process it all I pulled out my phone and dialed the number and didnt realize who I was calling until I heard the "hello, hello Adaline, are you there?" I finally snapped out of my daze and Barrett stared at my with a worried look I smiled to reasure him "yes papa sorry, my mind was wandering" I hear him take a breath "is everything all right is James okay?" I cant be mad at him but I am slightly that he kept so much from me. "Yes and no I have a lot to talk about, I wanted to let you know we will be coming for a visit tomorrow should land in the afternoon and we'll be at your house around 1, I missed you and also need to grab some of Sebs stuff for James and his room." It was quite for a few seconds "Okay hunny I cant wait to see you both I'll get your room ready and grab some of the good steaks from the store and well have your favorite dinner tomorrow night I love you darlin." He hung up, "okay that was strange, he never hangs up before I say bye." I said while putting my phone away "he's probably off to the store and to get things ready I mean you did only give him less than 24 hours to before you get there, also why didnt you tell him everyone was coming?" I looked at Barrett "something tells me he knows and also if not I want to show up with everyone that way he can't deny to say he has no idea because the proof will be with me" I felt my eye start to change again and he just laughed "of course like a true Luna" than kissed the top of my head "lets go get packed and ready and get some sleep" tomorrow is going to be crazy.
