The cave was collapsing, my breath snatched from my throat as I spun around and made a dash for the pathway in which we came from. The clinking sound of the gemstones falling was accompanied with the thunderous boom of the stalagmites crashing into the cave floor and some falling into the water with a loud splash. Dust already blocked my vision and I coughed as some infiltrated my throat. Out the corner of my eye, I managed to make out growing cracks at the side of the cave walls. We weren’t going to be fast enough.
