6 All too quickly, the week flew by, and it was time to pay the piper for dating a nearly perfect man by brunching with his uppity family. I had an immense wardrobe of clothing to choose from, but still dithered over finding the right outfit to wear. Having the correct costume wasn't likely to keep Seth's parents from seeing me for what I was––beneath them. Abby reassured me repeatedly that they would love me. From her perspective, they had to love me because she did. She didn't understand how anyone could not love me, but I was well aware that it was an easy task. My own family had proven that. Ab overlooked all of my flaws, though, because she was a wonderful friend. I was fairly certain that the Davis matriarch and patriarch would be quick to find and discuss all of my imperfections.
