The surprised looks on their faces were nothing less than what I had expected (and dreaded) seeing––a horrid mixture of shock, pity and disgust. I had been hoping to avoid telling them, or even having them know. Why did they have to follow me?
It warmed my heart that they went to all the effort to hunt me down, and I was rather shocked that it didn't take them longer to do so. I'm guessing Sam must have had something to do with that.
Seth and Abby are two of the people that I care most about on earth, and I had managed to hurt and stun them. I guess my perfect record for screwing up everything I touch remains in tact.
