Chapter 21: Gifts*

Alizeh and Nerida were beyond angry. Their cottage was destroyed and replaced with scorched earth. Yes they could repair damage in a few hours, they were Elemental Gods after all, but that was not the point! It had taken over a millennium to get things just the way they liked it and it had been destroyed by a pissing contest!

Alizeh and Nerida called to their elements. They were glowing with their power when Terran Shimmered in. He instantly became angry as well when he saw the destruction and started to glow green. “Which one do you want sisters?” He asked in a booming voice.

“I take the fire t**t” Alizeh said “ you two take on the demon of f*****g stupidity ”

Terran and Nerida shimmered and disappeared. They landed near Richard/Amon. “ Stop this Destruction, or we will stop it for you” boomed Terran.

“ Richard, I think you should listen, mate. They look really pissed!” Edward/Dagon shouted from above.

Richard/Amon screamed a challenge at the Elemental Gods. Suddenly, vines sprang up and grabbed onto his arms. Richard/ Amon burnt them off, but four more appeared and grabbed onto his body. Every time he got free, double the vines appeared. They were dragging him down to the ground. Thick ones covering his body, stopping from even wiggling. Ice was starting to cover the vines, making it even more difficult to move or burn them off. “How dare you!” Amon/Richard screamed, “I am a direct descendent of the Demon of Destruction !” 

“Oh,” said Nerida amused, “That would be impressive, except that we are the Gods of Creation. We banished your Father to the abyss. You destroy, we come back stronger. You forgot who you are dealing with!“

“ We did warn you to stop!” said Terran boomed. The vines and ice had now completely engulfed Richard/Amon, Edward/Dagon landed next to the Elemental Gods.

“I am sorry, I did try and stop them. Will Richard be ok?” Said Edward/Dagon anxiously. Richard has been a fool to pick a fight with one element, never mind three!

“Do not worry, descendent of the Demon of Death, he will be released in the morning when things have calmed down. He will be unscathed.” Terran said confidently.

“ Well he be doing better than Hakan anyway.“ said Nerida

They turned and saw Hakan trying to fire blast his way out of a prison made of wind. Every time, the fire touched the boundary it disappeared. He screamed in rage “let me out you airheaded slut!”

“Hakan you pay for that!! Now listen to me, you know you cannot burn fire without ..let me think...oh yes air!” She snapped her fingers and all the air disappeared from the prison Hakan was in. Instantly all of his fire went out. “You are not going to die, but it will be uncomfortable for you. Use this time to reflect on your Manners and I will see you in the morning.” 

With that, all three elements shimmered and disappeared. 

“f**k!” Edward/Dagon said as he turned to find Lux and Harper. Hopefully, they were having more luck than Richard was.

Jamie had not said a word since she saw Raoul in the vision. He looked terrible, whilst she had been falling in love with Richard. Her eyes widen as she realised she love two men. How could this be? 

“It is possible to love people at the same time child” the Moon Goddess “In fact, it is quite common in wolf packs”

“But..but..” she stuttered.

“But you need to stop running away when things get hard!” The Moon Goddess said firmly

“I know ...it is...” Jamie 

“Scared of them leaving you, as your parents did?” Said the Moon Goddess.

“Dam she was right, “ Jamie thought “ is that why she reacted so badly to Edward that time when he mentioned her parents?”

“It is ok to be angry at your parents, it is a natural reaction when a mortal feels loss." The Moon Goddess said.

“It is not fair!“ Jamie exploded and started to sob, “Why did they leave me? Didn’t they know how much I need them? I was so happy with them. I miss them so much, I even miss my stupid dog pickles!” Jamie was sobbing uncontrollably. She had carried the guilt of feeling angry at her parents for so long.

The Moon Goddess rubbed Jamie’s back as waves of emotion overtook her. When Jamie sobs started to die down, she said, “ I am so sorry Goddess, you come to see me and all I done is cry!”

The Moon Goddess handed her a silk cloth to clean her face and said, “Child, you must not bottle up your feelings it will destroy you."

“That is what The Crone Goddess said!” grumbled Jamie.

“Well, it is one of the few things we agree on. Your parents loved you and did not choose to leave you. They still worry about you every day, but they are immensely proud of the woman you are becoming. It hurts to lose them because they mattered.“ The Moon Goddess is explained.

There was a few moments of silence, before the Moon Goddess continued, “ My time here grows short. Before I go, I have a few gifts for you. First this...” The Moon Goddess handed Jamie a thin sliver tube, about the size of her hand.

“Thanks! “ said Jamie clearly having no idea what it was. The Moon Goddess chuckled and said, “Child it is a Matantur it will turn into any shape if you will it!”

Jamie cleared her mind and thought of a dagger. The sliver tube glowed and turned into a dagger. “That is amazing!” She gasped.

“Indeed, it is and it is small enough to be used as a hair stick, so you don’t have to worry about carrying it,” The Moon Goddess said.

Jamie put it through her hair bun. “My second gift is a friend.” The Moon Goddess said. Suddenly, there was a silver glow on Jamie’s and a Black Cat appeared. “ Fluff!” Jamie shouted and squashed Fluff into a hard hug “I thought you were with your Clowder?“

“I was, but my Mother is a very regal Queen,” Fluff said carefully.

“What he trying to say is that he has been begging to escape his Clowder from the word go. His Mother is a good friend, but she is very demanding!” the Moon Goddess chuckled.

“Besides, there are only so many times you can break into the Realm of the Dead before it stops being funny.” Fluff said sadly “ the God of the Dead is hopeless at keeping my kind out.”

The Moon Goddess rolled her eyes. “My next gift is two pieces of advice and a piece of information. I will start with the information first. Chaos followers will make a move at the summer ball. I can tell you no more than that. “ She said firmly. “ The advice I give you is this: you have a long road ahead, Love will ease your path no end.”

Jamie nodded, she understood. “The Second is this, no matter who a being is, mortal or God, they can not resurrect the dead. This is a law that cannot be broken, to do so would tear at the fabric of the Universe!”

“My fourth and final gift is returning something that you once gave up. I can not return all of it because of your mortal body!”

“Who am I Moon Goddess?” Jamie whispered, suddenly realising that this would not happen for a normal mortal.

“It is not time for you to know that yet. I have laid out a bed mat and blanket for tonight for you, Fluff will keep you warm” The Moon Goddess said. The Moon Goddess then kissed the middle of her forehead. Jamie felt a strange tingling sensation before she found herself lying down on her bed mat drifting off to sleep.”

An hour later

The Moon Goddess stared at her child and smiled. Jamie’s runes had started to return as she slept soundly, a moon crescent was forming on Jamie’s forehead.

“How did you know it was anger at her mortal parents that were holding her back?” Asked Fluff

“I am mated to her Pa, aren’t I? Adonis is much calmer now than he was in his youth. I won’t be able to interfere anymore Fluff, I am on uncertain ground as it is. It is only because she made offerings when she was young that I could give something in return. Make sure you take good care of my daughter!”

“I will never get rid of that dam name!“ grumbled Fluff.
