Chapter 13 : Reporting to an old friend

1168 Words
Lord Raoul POV We arrived in the Capital in great time and I be honest it was great to be home. I had enough of the hard road for some time. I dismounted from a tired Black Winter and a stable hand took him away. The stable hand was suprised that he did not try his normal tricks. I smiled as my thoughts turned to Kitten.  I had to ordered Sam to take Jamie to my Servants’ quarters. I wanted to give her a guest room, but Sam suggested Jamie might feel more comfortable in the Servant’s Quarters.  I sighed and walked up the polished marbled stairs. The Servant bowed and lead me to the King in his private study. I knocked and opened a large oak door. The room was medium sized room, with book selves from floor to ceiling. The books were of diffrent languages, some of which even I did not know. In the centre was a large oak desk with my old friend sat down reading some court papers. “Hello your Majesty, your faithful servant has returned!” I said. I am always been a bit dramatic! The King looked up with surprise on his face and the got up to embrace me. We had grown up together so behind closed doors, normal rules did not apply. King Stephan was slightly order then me as he just had his 20th Birthday. He had to take the throne at 18, because his parents had passed away from the Plague which had engulfed the country 2 years ago. There was a good chance the Plague was created by Chaos followers, but it never could be proved. The realm had been devastated, but King Stephan had stepped up. At 6 foot 1, King Stephan was taller then average. His muscles were well defined, a result of years of military training. His hair was chestnut brown and slightly wavey. He preferred to keep his hair short, rather than long, which is The traditional style. King Stephan had a round face and steel grey eyes. “Stop with this King nonsense Raoul! How come you are back so early? I was not expecting you back for at least another day. Has something happened?” King Stephan step back, his face full of concern. “No Steph, all is well. In fact very well!” I said I went through the events of the last few days and how Kitten was involved. How I first met her when Black Winter ran away, how he got Sam to investigate and how he uncovered the abuse. I continued on about how I used my charm to get a sale agreement from the ghastly Aunt Judith, but when Sam when to collect Kitten she had gone.  I took a minute to sip some water a servant had brought in. I then continued about how I was able to rescued her from wild dogs pen because she influenced them. I listed her injuries and how David has sensed her power.  I explained how the animals had behaved impeccably. I finished by saying how she was now in the servants quarters after I drugged her. “Wait a minute you drugged her?“  Exclaimed Steph as he sat down at his desk and motioned for me to do the same. I took the empty chair opposite him. “It was for her own good, she needed to recover from such a large amount of magical healing“. I answered sheepishly. “Is that the only reason Rao? You seem very interested in this girl“.  Steph said using his private nickname. There was no point in lying to my oldest friend. “Ever since I seen her purple eyes I have been drawn to her, like I want to protect her.“ I admitted. Steph was quite for a minute. “ You know if she has purple eyes that she is...“ “Blessed by a High God or Goddess “ I finished his sentence “It makes sense when you think about it. Most humans only have influence over one type of animal, Thorn your Kennel Marster is a good example of that, but she has influence over at least three! Added to that the power David sensed we have one powerful Kitten on our hands. I just hope she is Water dominate, we could really use a good healer at the moment. Especially, when reports of chaos followers causing issues have picked up again. Of course a quick examination of her body to find to find her God Mark would confirm our suspicions”  King Stephan said. A growl suddenly erupted from my throat, no one would touched Kitten! Steph looked shocked. I quickly bowed my head and apologised. I am the Alpha werewolf of the famous Wolf Moon pack not some runt! I was embarrassed by my actions and told Steph so. “Relax old friend, it just surprised me that’s all. You normally have your wolf under control. Wait, do you think that Kitten could be your fated mate?” Stephan said.  Excitement filled Steph’s eyes as he continued“ I mean it is no secret that werewolves normally find their Fated mates straight  after their first shift. Everyone expected you to have mated with the Alpha’s daughter of the Gold Moon pack. But after you shifted 4 years ago, there was no fated bond with her!” “I know, I was kind of there Steph!” I snapped.  Elsie, the daughter of the Alpha of Gold Moon, was a dream for any man. She had long blond hair, curves in all the right places and willing to do anything to please her man. I am no saint, and had slept with Elsie on many occasions. Everyone, including my Mother, expected an announcement that I would make Elsie my Luna at the upcoming Summer Ball. Blackthorn, my wolf, had stopped speaking to me months ago because of it. He thought we should wait till our fated mate arrived.  “She not 16 yet, so I can’t say for certain” I replied. “Do we know when she does turn 16?“ King Stephan asked. “No it is close though.” I sighed “ Besides I am no cradle snatcher, I would wait till she matures a bit!” “Ahh so you do think it is her! Otherwise why would you be making plans?” Steph said triumphantly before saying “ Your Mum is going to be so pissed!”. “I can’t believed you are King sometimes Steph.“ I said rolling my eyes. “Oh please Rao let me be there when you tell her! I throw in the King’s guard for your protection if you do!” King Stephan said. “Piss off Steph” I snapped. Steph just continued laughing at me,  the Cunt! **
