April 22nd, 2010 "Gabriel Aruish, you are not taking full responsibility for your actions. " "What did you want me to do when everyone was yelling my name?" Gabriel said angrily, as he stood up to leave his family's presence. To him, they are not helping him at all. "Honey, your father is just trying to….." Gabriel interrupted. " What is he trying to do ….I got it, I am the next in line to lead the pack but my powers are yet to be unveiled.", "Honey you, taking this too far ", the mother seemed to be apologetic this time. Gabriel paced around the room angrily. He didn't seem to understand how his parents wanted him to react. To him, he had always been doing his best, and that best wasn't recognized by members of his family. "The leader of the alpha pack is supposed to come out of this family and you, son, this is our chance to gain back the power..the council of werewolf meetings is in 3 full moons " Mr. Aruish explained, he also felt for his son. Maybe they went too hard on him. Just then, he thought of something and returned to the discussion. "Father, I need to talk to you about something of great importance. It's about the throne." "(Surprised) The throne? What do you mean, son? Why are you concerned about the throne?" "Father, as you know, I am a werewolf. My days are spent in the form of a human, but as the full moon rises, I transform into a fearsome creature. Recently, I have been approached by our fellow werewolves who believe it is time for me to claim the throne of our pack. " (Taken aback) Claim the throne? But son, you are young and have barely started exploring your abilities. Shouldn't you focus on honing your skills before considering such a weighty responsibility? "I understand your concerns, Father, but the werewolf geriatric believes I possess qualities necessary to lead our pack. They see strength, courage, and the ability to unite our clan. They believe I have a unique capacity to bring us closer to our true potential." "(Contemplative) I do acknowledge your strengths, my child. However, leading a pack means more than just exhibiting physical prowess. It requires wisdom, diplomacy, and the ability to make tough decisions for the well-being of the entire pack. Have you thought about these aspects?" "Yes, Father, I have. I've been seeking guidance from older and more experienced werewolves within our pack, learning from their wisdom. I understand the responsibilities that come with the throne and am willing to learn and adapt to become the leader our pack deserves." " (Sighs) My child, it warms my heart to see your determination, but I must also consider the welfare of our pack as a whole. Perhaps you should take some more time, gather experience, and prove your worth before attempting to claim the throne." " (Resolute) Father, I understand your concerns. However, the urgency among our pack members is growing. The need for a strong leader becomes stronger with each passing day, especially as threats from outside forces continue to rise. I genuinely believe I can make a difference and lead our pack to prosperity." " (Pauses) My child, I trust your judgment, and I see the passion within you. If you truly believe you are ready for such a role, then I shall support you. However, I implore you to seek wisdom from other leaders, listen to their advice, and let their experiences shape your decisions." "Thank you, Father. Your support means the world to me. I promise I will not let you or our pack down. I will work diligently to prove myself as a worthy leader and ensure our pack thrives under my rule." "I am proud of you, my child. Always remember that leadership is not about power or authority, but about serving and protecting those who look up to you. Lead with love, strength, and compassion, and I have no doubt we will succeed in securing the throne for the betterment of our pack." Gabriel felt it, suddenly the realities of life sprung up in him, and he felt pained, excusing him from his family. "Excuse me, I need to make use of the restroom ", he said, and ran upstairs to his room. He opened the door fiercely, vetting all his emotions, which were a mixture of pain and compassion at his door. Sitting down on his bed, he scanned through all the werewolf's pack records, which he wasn't interested in for the moment. All he cared to do at that moment was to patiently wait for the next full moon to see if he'd be able to get his abilities, then he'd go for the leader of the congregation of the werewolves, but for now, he had to look forward to his new school. ***** ****** **** Gabriel walked into the hallway, students were chatting with their fellas, some with their friends and others in a large group. Phoenix walked in and met Dylan, who was setting up her locker. "What's up girly?", " I am fine and what about you?"Dylan asked. "Well, I am all good, " Phoenix replied. She seemed a bit happy and excited, Dylan could tell. "What is the excitement all about?", she queried. "Well, Nathan.,. Dylan seemed not to remember who Nathan was, her facial expression tells it all…" the boy with the orange hair in 3rd grade ", " Ooh, what's up with him? ", "Well, he is moving back to Venville. His parents felt he should move down here ", Dylan stared in disbelief, "Anyways, I have to go see Principal Maurice", she said sadly. " Again?? "" "Yea, see you later". Both hugged and Dylan exited the principal's office. "Hey," a masculine voice firmly calls out. The voice was very pleasant to the ear, it was one of those voices meant for actors and imaginary fantasies. Her partner made a turn to see the voice of a king, astonished by what she saw…The guy standing right beside her is the definition of a god. He is tall, cute, and with blonde-haired hair. She believed this kind of person only exists in movies. "Hello," she shutters. "I am Gabriel ". He handed his hand for a formal greeting. She was too nervous to respond to the extended handshake. "Phoenix. Phoenix ", "Nice name ", "Thank you, you are new to this school, right?",. She inquires Gabriel uses his hand to pull a fringe of his hair back from entering his eyes, and her heart thaws. " I was expelled from my previous school". "Ooh wow, okay", she said, feeling unrelaxed, Gabriel could see it all written on her face, so he left her. "See you later" "Okay ", she replies. Holding her breath like that was the last oxygen she would breathe. Deep down, she wanted to discuss more things with him but nothing was forthcoming. She glared at him while he gently walked down the stairs. " Oh…I have seen beauty but this is a discovery" she said without knowing it. " Oh wow…see who is staring at the new boy," Daylan said from behind. "You were supposed to meet with the principal. What are you doing here?" She laughed so hard and responded " Was you monitoring you while you stared at the new boy?" she said jokingly. "Come on, it's time to go." They left hand in hand while Phoenix kept her silence to avoid being laughed at for looking at a boy.
