"Redemption's Price"

The atmosphere in the room was thick with tension. As more of the bullies stormed in right after Phoenix had taken the first set of bullies away. The sound of heavy footsteps pounded loudly against the wooden floor of Leah"s home. They immediately rushed toward Kadmiel, fists clenched and faces beaming rage. Jae stood back with an evil smirk that played across his face, his confidence rising as he watched the additional men enter. He folded his arms across his chest and watched on, “You are more than finished now, Kadmiel. You should have never gotten involved in something you knew you could not handle.” Leah stood frozen beside her mother, both their hearts pounding in their chests. Her children clung to her legs, sensing the danger but not fully understanding what was happening. Her mother’s expression was that of fear and anger, and Billy, her younger brother, stood trembling in the corner. Josh stood beside him too. It seemed like the whole world had turned against Kadmiel, as always. But Kadmiel remained calm. Immediately the first bully charged at him, Kadmiel dodged the blow with ease as if he had known exactly how and where the man would punch. He grabbed the man by the wrist and twisting it sharply. A sickening c***k echoed through the room as the bully screamed in pain, dropping to his knees. The others hesitated for a moment, seeing the speed and precision of Kadmiel’s movements, but their hesitation did not last long. “Get him! He can"t fight all of you.” Jae barked from the back, gesturing wildly at Kadmiel. The bullies rushed forward, but Kadmiel was ready for each and every one of them. He ducked under one swing, delivering a powerful punch to another’s stomach, sending the man flying backward into a wall. Two more tried to grab him from behind, but Kadmiel spun around, delivering quick, brutal blows that left both of them on the floor. Leah and her family watched in disbelief, her mouth slightly open as Kadmiel took down man after man with ease. His movements were fluid, calculated, each strike delivered with precision and power. It was as if he was dancing through the chaos, untouchable. “Stop this!” Leah’s mother shouted from the side, her voice trembling with rage. “You are going to get us all killed! Stop fighting them!”But Kadmiel was not listening. His focus was entirely on the remaining bullies, who were now visibly shaken. One of them took a step back, his hands raised in surrender. “I, I do not want any trouble, man. This was not my idea,” he stammered. Jae’s smirk quickly left his face as he realized his men were no match for Kadmiel, the main bully. He took a step forward, his hand reaching for the knife tucked into his belt. “You think you are so tough, Kadmiel? You are just a washed-up pile of nothing. You do not scare me.” Kadmiel turned to face him, his eyes cold. “Is that so?” Without warning, Kadmiel quickly went toward Jae. The bully leader tried to swing the knife, but Kadmiel was too fast. He grabbed Jae’s wrist, twisting it sharply until the knife fell on the floor. With a swift motion, Kadmiel kicked Jae’s leg out from under him, sending him crashing to the ground. Jae groaned in pain, clutching his leg, but Kadmiel was not done with him. He grabbed Jae by the collar and raised him to his feet, staring him down with an intensity that made the air in the room feel even heavier. “Who sent you!?” Kadmiel growled. Jae’s defiance disappeared for a moment, but he quickly regained his composure. “I am not telling you anything,” he spat. Kadmiel’s grip tightened, his voice dropping to a dangerous whisper. “Trust me, you do not want me to ask again.”Jae’s eyes darted around the room, looking for a way out, but there was none. He finally relented, his voice barely above a whisper. “It is….. Blake. Blake runs things around here. You mess with him, and you would live to regret it, that is if you live.” “Blake,” Kadmiel repeated, his voice filled with contempt. “You go tell Blake he has three days to come here and apologize to Leah and this family. If he does not, he will be the one to regret.” The bullies who were still conscious exchanged nervous glances. Kadmiel’s words carried a weight they could not ignore even if they tried. Jae struggled in Kadmiel’s grip, but Kadmiel was not done. With a swift motion, he twisted Jae’s leg, and a loud c***k echoed through the room. Jae screamed in agony as his leg broke under Kadmiel’s strength. “Three days,” Kadmiel repeated coldly, before throwing Jae to the ground. “Now get out.” The bullies wasted no time scrambling to their feet and dragging Jae out of the house. They disappeared into the night, leaving the room in silence. Leah’s children clung to her tighter, their wide eyes staring at Kadmiel with a mixture of awe and fear.As the adrenaline began to fade, Leah’s mother was the first to speak, her voice laced with anger. “Look at what you have done! You have brought nothing but trouble to this family, Kadmiel! Blake is not someone you can just threaten. He will come back, and when he does, we will all be dead!” Leah shook her head, still processing everything that had just happened. Her mind was racing, torn between fear for her family and the strange sense of relief she felt knowing Kadmiel was there to protect them. But she could not ignore the looming threat of Blake’s wrath. “Kadmiel, you are being too reckless,” she said softly, her voice filled with concern. “You can’t just fight your way through everything. Blake is dangerous, and you do not know what he is capable of.” Kadmiel turned to face her, his expression softening as he looked into her eyes. “I know what I am doing, Leah. I will not let anyone hurt you or your family.” Leah’s mother scoffed, stepping forward with fury. “You are all talk, Kadmiel! You think you can just throw punches and everything will be fine? You are no different from the rest of these thugs!” Kadmiel shook his head. “I am not like them. I can back up my promises. If Blake comes back, I will handle him.”“Handle him?” Leah’s mother repeated, her voice dripping with sarcasm. “You think you are invincible just because you can fight? What about the money? Do you think Blake is going to let this slide just because you broke a few bones?” Kadmiel did not flinch. “I will take care of the money.”Leah’s mother let out a bitter laugh. “Oh, really? You are going to pay off our debts just like that? You expect me to believe you have a million just lying around?” Kadmiel did not hesitate. “I can take out ten times that amount.” Leah’s mother stared in disbelief. “If you are so rich, why haven’t you done anything for us until now? Why haven’t you been here for Leah?”Leah’s heart ached at her mother’s words, but she knew there was some truth. Kadmiel had been absent for years, and while his return was a whirlwind of emotions, she could not deny the anger that still lingered. “I have made mistakes,” Kadmiel admitted, his voice heavy with regret. “But I am here now. I am going to make things right.” Leah’s mother crossed her arms, her eyes staring disgustingly at Kadmiel. “If you are serious about helping us, then prove it. If you can pay off this debt by tomorrow, then maybe, just maybe, I will believe you.” Kadmiel nodded, untouched by the challenge. “I will get the money.” Leah’s brother, Billy, who had been silent this entire time, suddenly stepped forward, guilt written across his face. “It is all my fault,” he confessed quietly. “I borrowed the money. I thought I could start a business and make things better for the family, but… it did not work out.”Leah’s mother turned on him, her face flushed with anger. “You i***t! You ruined everything!”Billy placed his hand on his head, ashamed. “I did not mean for it to get this bad. I just wanted to help.” Kadmiel placed a reassuring hand on Billy’s shoulder. “It is not your fault, Billy. We will fix this.”Leah’s mother scoffed, clearly unconvinced. “You have done enough damage, Kadmiel. Just leave before you make things worse.” Kadmiel shook his head, pulling out his phone. “I am not going anywhere yet.” He quickly entered his number into Leah’s phone, handing it back to her with a soft smile. “If you need anything, call me.” Before Leah could respond, Kadmiel stepped outside, pulling out his phone again. “Phoenix,” he said into the phone “I want men stationed around Leah’s house. Make sure no one bothers them.” On the other end, Phoenix, Kadmiel’s trusted subordinate, responded immediately. “Understood, boss. I will take care of it immediately.” As Kadmiel hung up, his sister Kelita approached, her expression curious. “What is going on with you and Leah’s family?”Kadmiel sighed. “It is very complicated.” Kelita raised an eyebrow. “Complicated does not even begin to cover it. What are you going to do about Blake and Young Master Wilson?” Kadmiel’s jaw tightened. “I will make sure I deal with them. But first, I need to make sure Leah and her family are safe.” Kelita studied him for a moment, her eyes narrowing. “You seem pretty invested in this, brother. Are you sure this is all just about protecting them and the kids?” Kadmiel exhaled, glancing up at the night sky. The air was cool, but the tension he felt would not leave so easily. “It is much more than that. I owe them a lot... I owe Leah something.” Kelita tilted her head. “Owe her? You do not owe anyone anything, Kadmiel. You have always fought your own battles. Why is this different?”Kadmiel did not respond right away. He stared off into the distance, thoughts running through his mind. Memories of the past, of times when Leah had been there for him, back before everything had gone wrong, flooded his senses. He could not let her suffer because of what her brother had done or because of Blake’s greed. Turning back to Kelita, he finally spoke. “I made promises I did not keep back then. It is time I did.” Kelita raised an eyebrow, her expression softening. “Well, if that’s what you want, you know I am with you. Whatever you need.” Kadmiel nodded, grateful for her support. “Thanks. I will need you and Phoenix to gather information on Blake and this Young Master Wilson. I want to know exactly what we are up against. ”Kelita smirked. “That will not be a problem. We will find out everything there is to know.” As Kadmiel watched his sister walk away, a determined look crossed his face. He would take care of Blake and whoever else tried to threaten Leah’s family. He would not let anyone hurt them, not while he still had the strength to fight.
