"I'll see you at home later." I said to Angelica. "Bye." She said. "And tell me everything." She winked then drove off. What? "Hey." somebody said behind me. I turned around and it wasn't Jayden. It was Oscar. I avoided him and walked around him. "Hey, Mallory." he said. I stopped and turned around. "Yeah?" I responded. He walked up to him. "I'm sorry for yesterday." "It's okay." "Okay good." "Uh.. Is that all?" I asked. "Are you free tonight?" "Tonight?" He nods. "Uh.. I can't, Oscar." "Aw, why not?" He frowned. "I.. I have plans." "What kind of plans?" He asks. "Do you mind if I tag along?" "Hey Mallory." Jay said behind me. "With him?" Oscar asks, pointing at Jay beside me. "Why are you talking to her?" Jayden growled at him. "Why? I can't talk to her?" "You can't." "Oh, so she is your girlfriend." "No, no, Oscar. I'm not his girlfriend." I corrected. "I'm just.. his tutor." "We gotta go." Jay says harshly to Oscar. We got in his car. "I really hate that guy." Jay says. "Why?" I asked. "He's a dick." "And you're not a d**k?" I laughed. "Hey! I'm a much-" "Whatever." "But I want you away from him." "Why?" I asked. "You aren't my guardian." "No. But I'm-" he stops. "What?" "Nothing." "Okay.." The rest of the ride was awkward. We went inside his house. "Where's your parents?" I asked him. "You know, you seem to really worry about my parents," he said. "tell me Mallory, are you interested in me?" "What?" "Nothing." He smirked. "They're out." Ugh, I really hated staying alone with him. In his house. ALONE. Especially with him. He went upstairs but I didn't follow. "Aren't you coming?" He stops and asks. "Uh.. can we study down here instead?" "Aw, come on. You were fine before." "I'm just.." "Alright." He came back downstairs and we sat on the couch in the living room. "What do you wanna learn?" I ask. "You." He replied. "Uh.. what?" "You." He repeated. "Are you okay?" I ask. He nods his head. "Yeah. I wanna learn about you." "Why?" "Because.." "Exactly." "What's your favorite color?" He asks. "Lavender or Lilac. You?" "Is it obvious?" He answered. "Black.." "Your favorite hobby?" "Math." I answered easily. "You?" "f*****g girls." "Of course." I said. "But that's more of a habit." "Hey, I can stop myself." "Oh, really, Willings?" I ask. He leaned forward. "Yes, Walls." "Prove it." "Do you know how bad I want to kiss you?" He asked. What did he just say? "Uh.." "But I can control myself." He leaned back. After hours of tutoring him, I was getting tired. It was nearly 7pm and my curfew was at 11. "Your curfew's at 11," Jay said. "what's the rush?" I was stuffing the books in my bag. "I.. I have to be home for dinner." I lied. There was never 'family dinners'. "Lies." He accused. "I'm not lying!" I pouted. Even though I really was. "You're so cute when you pout." "I gotta go." I got up but he grabbed my arm. "Stay with me.. for dinner, please." He begged. "I'm lonely." "Oh, why don't you just call one of your girls then?" I ask. He smirked. "I'm bored of them. I want to try something new." I looked at him in disgust. "You're disgusting, Jayden." "But you're interested." "Who said I was interested?" "Nobody." He answered. "Exactly." I said. "Maybe you're the one interested." "Maybe I am." I look at the grip he had on my arm. "I'm gonna go now. Bye Jay." "You're just playing hard to get." He muttered. "Excuse you. I'm just doing my own thing." "Yeah, yeah, Mallory." He said. "Keep playing." I am not playing hard to get. What's his deal?
