At the end of the day, we went to his house.
"Alright, where's the pizza?" I asked him.
"Hello Jayden!" a lady spoked.
"Mom?" Jay said. "Dad?"
"Hey Jayden!" a man spoked.
"Who is this beautiful young girl?" She asks him.
"Uh.. this is Mallory.." Jay told them.
"Is she your girlfriend?" they both asked at the same time.
"No, Mr. and Mrs. Willings. I'm his tutor. My name's Mallory."
"Tutor?" Mr. Willings asks. "Since when did you get a tutor?"
"You guys wouldn't know because you're never here."
"Well, you still should've, Jayden." Mrs. Willings.
After hours of speaking, Mr. and Mrs. Willings asked me a question about my parents.
"What does your dad do?" Mr. Willings ask.
"Uh.." I started to say.
"She lives in a foster home." Jayden cutted me off.
"Foster home?" Mrs. Willings said.
I nodded and bit my lip. "Yeah.."
"Are your foster parents, Nathaniel and Yolanda?" They asked me.
"Yeah." I answered. "How'd you know?"
"We've been really great friends with them! For a long time." Mr. Willings told me.
"We were actually planning to adopt." Mrs. Willings said.
"Adopt?" Jay asks.
Adopt? I thought in my head.
"Uh.. Were you planning to adopt my sister, Mina?" I asked.
"Well.. we don't know yet, Mallory. We want to see and get to know all the foster kids there."
"Uh.. Mom? Dad?" Jayden said.
"Yeah, sweetie?" Mrs. Willings answered.
"You've been talking to Mallory for about an hour. She has to tutor me." Jay told them. "So.. can you give us some privacy.. please?"
"Sure!" Mr. Willings answered.
"And are you guys sure you aren't dating?" They both asked.
Jay and I nodded. "Yeah. We're just friends."
"Let's go upstairs." Jay said to me.
I nodded in reply and we went up the stairs.
Jay closed the door behind him.
"Sorry about my parents." Jay apologized.
"Why?" I ask.
"They can be a little.. questiony."
"Questiony? Is that even a word?" I laughed.
"It is now." He sat down on the bed.
I sat down also.
"Alright, whatcha wanna learn?" I asked.
"Anything." He answered.
"Oh yeah. This is way off topic but.." I started to speak. "Your parents never told you about adopting a kid from my foster house?"
He shook his head. "They never brought it up."
"Well.. I want to know your opinion."
"Keep going."
"How would you feel about them adopting?" I ask.
"I don't know. It really depends."
"I'm actually really curious who they're gonna adopt." I commented.
"Yeah. So am I. Let's get this done." He said.
THIRD PERSON POV:
"What do you think about about Mallory?" Mrs. Willings asks.
"Honestly.. I think she'll be a great daughter." Mr. Willings answered.
"Yeah. I agree. She's so nice and pretty. And she's also really mature."
"Let's take some time to think about this."
"I agree."

Mallory's POV:
"Finally! It's the weekend!" Angelica cheered.
"This means.. party.." I said.
"What? Party?" She asks.
"Yeah. Since the foster parents are never home, Mina and Rev always throw parties." I told her.
"Oh my god! Yes!" She clapped. "A party sound great!"
"You're interested?" I ask.
"Of course! I love parties!"
"Well.. I'm not allowed to be down here for parties so.."
"Why not?"
"Mina and Rev told me so.. back then."
"Well, now you're smoking hot! They'll want you for sure! Guys will." She winked. "But remember, you're Jayden's."
"Jayden and I aren't a couple." I reminded her.
"Right.. Just wait and see."
"I won't." I said.
"Don't doubt it." She nudged me.
"Hey, Mallory." Brett said.
I look up. "Oh, hey Brett."
"Well.. I'm offended.." Angelica said.
"Hey Angelica." Brett laughed.
"Hello foster brother!"
"Hey, um.. Mallory?"
"Yeah?"
"Since your sister and Rev is throwing a party tonight, I was wondering if you wanted to go out?" He asks.
"Are you asking her out on a date?" Angelica asks.
"Yeah, kind of.."
"Su-"
Angelica cut me off. "She's staying for the party."
"Oh, you are?"
I bit my lip. I notice that, biting my lip, bottom lip, has become one of my habits now. "Yeah.. I'm sorry, Brett."
"No. It's fine."
Brett left and I could tell he was upset.
"Really? Brett asked you out when I was sitting right here?" Angelica pouted.
"You're beautiful, Angelica." I told her. "But remember, you're his foster sister."
"So? We're not blood related!" She stated.
"Well.. try telling your foster parents then."
"They're never home."
"I know." I said.
