Chapter 4:losing consciousness

Elliot's POV

I quickly caught her when I noticed she was losing balance due to unconsciousness, I picked her up and took her back to the room with the doctor following behind.

I got to the room and placed her on the bed gently, she's so fragile.

"check her and make sure she's fine, nothing must happen to her" I said to the doctor in a firm tone.

"okay, I'll do that now" the doctor said nodding quickly and getting to work nervously , I think he was intimidated by me, which is good, I don't like people making mistakes.

I stood by the wall watching his every move like a hawk watching it's prey, he checked her heartbeat and her pulse.

"she's fine sir, she just passed out due to the event of today but I promise you she'll regain consciousness soon" he said nervously

"she better be fine" I said to him while shoting him a hard glare, I don't know why I'm acting up but I just know that I want to protect this girl and nothing must happen to her.

"she'll regain consciousness soon, I'll come check on her when she wakes up" he said nervously before leaving the room quickly as if he was escaping from hell.

I went and sat down on her bed, took her hand in mine caressing it softly, I looked at her carefully and something thug in my heartstring, the urge to keep her close to me increased strongly.

"who are you?, what have you done to me? " I whispered, I took my hand to her cheeks caressing it, while lost in her beauty and innocence, the next moment she opened her eyes, her black orbs met my Grey ones and I was lost in it.

I was completely drawn in

It felt like time had stopped

But I immediately came out of my trance when I noticed tears falling down her eyes, my chest tightened instantly.

"hey, it's okay" I I said to her softly while wiping her tears and helping her sit up.

"I know this is a hard time for you, but you must consider your health, you've lost consciousness twice today and it's bad for your health" i said trying to coerce her but I was finding it hard because this is all new to me, I'm not used to this kind of emotions, I'm used to signing deals and dishing out orders, so I was finding it hard to handle this situation.

"I want my parents back" she said between sobs and I felt a slight pain in my chest, she looked like a broken doll.

Seeing her tears broke me, I couldn't stand it, without thinking I drew her into my arms trying to console her because that was the only thing I could think of.

"it's okay" , I said patting her back and she hugged me tightly crying her eyes out, her tears and snort stained my cloth but I didn't care, all I cared about was the person in my arms.

"why did they leave, they promised to always be there for me but they left, they left me all alone" she spoke between cry and hiccups and I could hear the pain, agony and desperation in her voce, she was devastated and it made me worried.

I couldn't do anything than to give her my shoulder to cry on, I knew that nothing would work on her at that moment because the incident was still fresh,but I just kept on patting her back and soothing her.

The room was filled with her cries and after a while her cries turned into little sobs until I could no longer hear her voice, I checked and saw that she had fallen asleep in my arms, so I laid her back to the bed gently and carefully, made sure she was positioned well before leaving the room quietly.

I stood outside the room and called my assistant to bring food "make sure you're here in 20 minutes" I said to my assistant in a cold commanding tone.

The doctor approached me and I could still sight the fear in his eyes which amused me. "has she regained consciousness?" he asked carefully.

"yes, but she's asleep for now, when she wakes up I'll ask her about any family member, so they can handle everything and take her home" I said in a flat tone.

"alright then let's wait for her to wake up, I'll assign a nurse to her now" the doctor said before walking away quickly

Such a coward I cursed internally.

I stood at the hallway for a while, I could see people moving about, nurses and doctors doing their job but I was lost in my own thoughts, thoughts about Chloe of course, who were her family, why isn't any of them present, doesn't she have a family apart from her parent I wondered.

How is she going to live her life from now on, without the support of her family,I kept on wondering

I was brought out of my thoughts by the greeting of my assistant.

"Good evening sir, here's the food you asked for" he said softly and I just nodded and took the food from him and entered the room.

"wait for me outside" I said firmly before closing the door behind me.
