Chapter 7: Awe

Chloe's POV

I looked out the window staring blankly at the moving vehicles and the people around, some shops were closing.

Cars honking.

Everybody had some where to go except me.

After a while the environment changed,

I could no longer see the busy streets

The noise from before faded away

Everything changed instantly

I started seeing upscale environment

Beautiful houses

Mansions

Wide roads

Tall gates

Everything here was screaming luxury

I was stunned

I kept observing everything in shock

So places like this exist I asked myself in disbelief

OMG, the vicinity was so beautiful, I was lost staring at the environment.

I could see green trees

Big gates with magnificent buildings behind.

Beautiful gardens.

My eyes widened as I took everything in,

The car stopped in front of a big gate and Elliot just pressed a button in his car and the gate opened, my breath caught.

He drove in and what I saw next made my jaw dropped.

This must be the most beautiful house I've seen since we entered this environment.

A very big mansion was sitting behind the gate, it was so big.

Beautiful and grand.

Tall green trees spread around.

There was a beautiful garden and a swimming pool.

People have swimming pool in their homes? , I stared in shock, my mind trying to process everything.

I stared at the building again it was so big and I wondered how many people live in it, maybe he has a wife with kids.

That thought made my chest tightened but I just ignored it and continued staring.

"we're here, come down" I was brought out of my trance by the voice of Elliot and I realized that he had opened the door for me already, I nodded and got down.

He lead me to the front door, I saw six maids come out and bowed to him.

"welcome back master" they said in unison

My eyes widened yet again

is he a king?,

Is this a palace? I asked myself internally

How rich is this man I wondered, everything in his house amused me.

He nodded to them and entered the building, I followed behind

The moment I stepped in -

I froze

The exterior was very beautiful but I never expected the interior to be breathtaking.

Everything here screamed luxury

The designs

The furnitures

The style.

Everything was too beautiful and classy to be real.

It looked like a stepped into a different world but it was real.

The house is so large, I'm sure I can get lost in this house.

I just stood there feeling out of place.

"are you okay?" Elliot asked me softly

"yes I am" I replied gently, why haven't I seen, his wife or anyone I wondered.

Maybe they're not home I concluded within me.

Elliot called all the made and they assembled before us bowing their heads and I was confused on what was happening

"these are the maids, feel free to call anyone of them when you need something or when you're uncomfortable" Elliot said to me calmly and I just nodded.

"make sure she's fine and also eat at the right time, you know I don't tolerate mistakes" he said to them sternly and they all nodded, they looked nervous.

This man is not to be triffled with, I'm sure of it.

I must be careful around him, to avoid problems.

He can be soft now and cold the next minute,he scares the hell out of me.

He turned to me and I froze slightly

"let me show you to your room, follow me" he said softly,back to his calm tone but his aura was still strong, I nodded and started following him.

We climbed the stairs, then a beautiful hallway came in view my eyes widened , how large is this house I wondered.

I took a mental note to explore it when he's not home.

We stopped in front of a door he twisted the knob and opened the door, he went inside and I followed him in.

My mouth was wide opened in surprise immediately I stepped into the room, I looked around the room in shock, Is this a room?,

It was spacious and elegant.

"this is your room, from now" he stated calmly

"make yourself comfortable and if you're not okay with anything don't hesitate to tell me" he continued and I gasped

"this room is for me?, only me?" I asked in shock

"yes it's yours, don't you like it" he asked

"if you don't like the design, I can design it to your tas-"

"no, no, no, no, no that's not what I meant" I interrupted him

"I'm very okay with the room, I'm just surprised that I get to have this room to myself, it's so beautiful and big" I said softly while looking around

"don't worry, it's all yours" he said with a small smile, that's the first time I've seen him smile and he looked so handsome, how can a man look this good I wondered.

"the closet Is right there" he said pointing to a door.

"tomorrow we'll go pick your things from your old house to this place" he said gently

Then reality hit me again

Old house?

My chest tightened

Tears welled up in my eyes

For a moment I forgot about everything but now I remember.

I don't have a family anymore.

Elliot's POV

Shit, i cursed internally, immediately regretting the words I just uttered.

"hey, I didn't mean it that way okay" I said anxiously

"it's okay don't cry, everything will be fine, I know you're hurting right now but you just have to be strong for your parents" I continued patting her back.

"they won't be happy seeing you hurt, they want to see you happy so try your best to get over this okay?" I continued trying to console her but it wasn't doing anything, her body was already trembling, and before I knew it she hugged me tightly crying loudly this time.
