Some distances can’t keep true feelings apart.

What happens when the boy who once lived just across the street becomes the one person a girl can never quite forget?

Seraphina Yackel has always been the quiet type. With her long golden-blonde hair, violet eyes, and a heart that feels more than she knows how to express, she prefers to keep her feelings to herself. She is intelligent, gentle, and sincere—but when it comes to one particular boy, even the simplest things become a complete disaster.

Julian Puricelli is practically her opposite. Confident, sociable, playful, and blessed with the kind of charm that makes people gravitate toward him, he seems to turn ordinary moments into unforgettable memories without even trying.

Their story begins in a neighborhood where their families live close enough for chance encounters, unexpected greetings, and embarrassing moments that Sera wishes she could erase from existence.

There are stormy nights, ridiculous misunderstandings, New Year's celebrations, playful teasing, and little moments that mean far more to Sera than Julian could ever imagine. Every smile makes her heart race. Every unexpected greeting threatens to send her running for cover. And every time she thinks she has finally managed to act normal around him, Julian somehow finds a way to make her forget how.For Sera, falling for Julian is easy. The difficult part is hiding it.Years pass. They leave their childhood neighborhood behind and pursue different dreams. Sera chooses nursing, while Julian builds his future in information technology. Their lives take different directions, separated by distance, responsibilities, and feelings that were never quite as simple as Sera hoped.

But first love is not always a beautiful story of two people who fall for each other at the same time.Sometimes, it is a story of loving someone quietly, gathering the courage to confess, and learning how to stand on your own when the answer is not what you wished for.Sera must discover that her life is bigger than the boy she once loved. She has dreams to pursue, friendships to treasure, and a future to build—even if a small part of her heart still remembers the boy who made her feel everything without even knowing it.Then, after years apart, their paths cross again in London.Sera is no longer the girl who used to panic at the sound of Julian's voice. She is a registered nurse, living and working in Germany, with a life she has worked hard to build. Julian, too, has grown into a man with his own experiences, ambitions, and perspective on the past. They meet again as adults—not as the children who once shared a neighborhood, but as two people who must learn to know each other all over again. This time, the question is no longer whether Sera can find the courage to love him.It is whether Julian will discover something in the woman she has become—and whether the two of them can finally write a different ending to a story that began long before either understood what love could mean.

Four Hours Away is a heartwarming romantic comedy about first love, embarrassing memories, unspoken feelings, painful lessons, growing up, and the unexpected possibility of a second chance.Filled with laugh-out-loud encounters, tender moments, nostalgic memories, and the kind of kilig that makes you smile at your screen, this is a story about the distances between two people—and the things that might bring them closer again.Because sometimes, the person who once felt impossibly far away is the person life gives you another chance to know. And sometimes, love needs more than a confession. It needs time, growth, and two hearts willing to choose each other.

Same neighborhood. Different journeys. One more chance.

Before Their Eyes Met Some love stories begin with a grand gesture. Others begin with a confession beneath the stars, a chance meeting in a crowded city, or a single conversation that changes everything. But the story of Seraphina Yackel and Julian Puricelli began in a much less remarkable way. It began with two families, two houses, and a neighborhood where an ordinary day could become a memory that lasted far longer than anyone expected. And, long before either of them understood what love could do to a person, there was a girl who had no idea how easily her heart would become attached to a boy who lived just a short distance away. Her name was Seraphina Yackel. Most people called her Sera. Sera was the sort of girl who spend an entire afternoon quietly observing the world without feeling the need to become its center. She had long golden-blonde hair, violet eyes, and a gentle face that often made people assume she was more confident than she actually was. She wasn't unfriendly. She simply took time to feel comfortable around people. At home, she was surrounded by the familiar noise of family life: her father's voice, her grandmother's presence, and the occasional argument or burst of laughter from her three brothers. Her mother worked in Germany as a domestic helper, leaving Sera and the rest of the family to manage their everyday lives at home while missing someone who was far away. Sera had learned to be helpful, responsible, and careful with her words. Well. Most of the time. There were days when exhaustion got the better of her patience. There were moments when embarrassment made her forget how to speak properly. And there were occasions when her mouth acted before her brain had been given the courtesy of a warning. She simply hadn't discovered those things about herself yet. Music was one of the few places where her shyness seemed to loosen its grip. She loved singing and playing the organ, and when she sang without worrying about who might be listening, her voice carried a tenderness that surprised people who knew how quiet she could be. She had dreams of her own, even if she rarely announced them loudly. She also had a habit of thinking too much. Unfortunately for her future peace of mind, life was about to introduce her to someone who would give her plenty of reasons to do exactly that. His name was Julian Puricelli. Julian was different from Sera in ways that became obvious even before they properly knew each other. He was sociable, confident, playful, intelligent, and competitive. He could talk comfortably with people he had only just met, and he possessed the sort of easygoing personality that made ordinary conversations feel effortless. He was also the kind of boy who enjoyed a challenge. If something interested him, he wanted to understand it. If someone challenged him, he wanted to see whether he could do better. And if a situation offered an opportunity for harmless mischief, there was a reasonable chance that Julian would find it entertaining. He came from a wealthy family. His father worked in London, while his mother managed the household and cared for their children. Julian also had two brothers, one older and one younger, and their home had the lively atmosphere of a family accustomed to sharing its space with one another. Two household helpers, Jennifer and her younger brother Tristan, were also part of the Puricelli household. Julian's interests extended beyond his studies. At home, he played the piano. At school, he could sometimes be found with a guitar borrowed from a classmate. Music, like technology and competition, offered him another way to occupy his curious mind. One day, he would pursue Information Technology at a prestigious university. Later, his career would take him to London, following a path shaped by education, opportunity, and his family's circumstances. But that future was still a long way off. For now, he was simply Julian: a boy with silver-white hair, deep sapphire-blue eyes, and a life that seemed to be moving comfortably in its own direction. He had no reason to think that a quiet girl from the neighboring property would someday become someone he would want to know in an entirely different way. And Sera, for her part, had no reason to think that the boy she had yet to meet properly would one day occupy so much space in her thoughts. Their families' paths, however, had already begun to cross. The land on which the Puricelli family would build their house had once been occupied by Sera's family home. When the Puricellis purchased the property, Sera's family began building a new house on the neighboring lot. Their new home had its foundation established first, but construction did not necessarily proceed at the same pace. The Puricellis had greater financial resources, and their house was completed sooner. Sera's family eventually moved into their own house even though parts of it remained unfinished. It was already livable, and life did not always wait for walls, ceilings, and every last detail to be completed. The two families would soon become neighbors. Their houses would stand close enough for familiar voices to carry across the space between them. Their daily routines would occasionally overlap. Their children would encounter one another in the ordinary ways children and teenagers did when their homes were near each other. There would be laughter, awkward greetings, unexpected embarrassment, and moments that seemed insignificant when they happened. Some would be funny enough to remember for years. Others would become precious only in retrospect. And eventually, there would be heartbreak. But that was a story for later. For now, there were only two young people living their separate lives, unaware that the same neighborhood was quietly preparing to bring them together. Sera had yet to discover how ridiculous she could become around someone she liked. Julian had yet to discover that the shy girl next door was far more interesting than she first appeared. And neither of them knew that their story would eventually stretch far beyond the distance between two houses. Because sometimes, before two people can find their way back to each other, they must first become part of each other's lives. And so, their story began—not with love, but with a house under construction, a passing tricycle, and a single moment when two pairs of eyes met.
