Razor dropped me off at Riley’s apartment just after 12:30, and the second I stepped out of the car, Riley burst through the front door and pulled me into a crushing hug.
“You’re here!” she squealed, squeezing me so tightly I could barely breathe. We settled on the couch with two tall glasses of iced tea, and Riley looked me up and down, taking in the new dress Kayde had chosen for me.
“Look at you,” she teased, grinning. “Already dressing like Shadow’s woman. You look... hot.” I blushed but couldn’t help laughing, and Riley wanted to know more about the shopping Kayde and I did.
