INKA I slowly opened my eyes to find the room filled with soft evening light. For a brief moment, I was disoriented, my body heavy and warm, my mind still in the pleasant haze of day. The swimming, Kayde's mild cocktails, and the laughter by the pool had all caught up with me. And I must have dozed off in one of the lounge chairs. I was alone in the massive bed, stretching, feeling the pleasant ache in my muscles from swimming and everything else we'd done. I needed to pee badly.
