The 24 Most Chaotic Hours In My Life

Victoria opened the door to her house with a limp step. Before she could even kick off her shoes, two figures pounced on her like watchdogs who had just spotted a burglar. "MAURYN JANE COLLINS! WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN, HUH?!" Leona shouted so loudly that the lights in the ceiling almost shook. Meanwhile, Tessa stood behind her with a panicked expression, her hands still clutching her phone as if she had just called the police. "We think you've been kidn*pped! Or worse, you were hit by a truck," Leona continued with a look of horror on her face. "We've both been desperate and worried, waiting for your news!" Tessa exclaimed. "I almost looked your name up on the crime news." Leona added, "If you don't get home by this afternoon, I'm prepared to post a 'Missing Person' notice on social media." Victoria could only let out a long sigh. Her head was still spinning from the effects of last night's hangover, not to mention the incident she had just witnessed. She hadn't even had time to change from the hotel and was still wearing her rumpled suit. "I'm still alive," she said as she roughly kicked off her heels and flopped down on the sofa. "And could you please turn down the volume? My head feels like it's been hit by a real truck." Tessa walked over to her. "We're really panicking, Victoria. You didn't come home last night. I called you so many times, but your number was disconnected." "I'm sorry," Victoria said in a tired voice. "I didn't bring a charger, and my phone died last night." Leona sat next to her with her arms crossed. "Okay, now explain. Why didn't you come home?" Victoria looked at her two friends, feeling slightly calmer at their concern. However, the pain that still lingered in her chest struck again, and she finally let out a long breath. "I accidentally caught Evan cheating on me." Silence fell over the room for a few moments. Tessa froze as if her brain needed a few seconds to process the information. Meanwhile, Leona stood up from the couch. "WHAT?! THIS ASSHOLE DOESN'T FEAR GOD, DOES HE?" Victoria nodded slowly. "I saw it with my own eyes. He was kissing another woman on the couch in his apartment. And you know who his mistress is? Freya!" Leona's eyes rounded. "The Freya you told me about? The new girl from Finance & Legal in your office who can't tell the difference between revenue and profit??" Victoria nodded again. Leona let out an angry squeal. "I can't let this go! Seriously, Victoria! I really have to kill Evan!" Tessa covered her mouth with her hand, her eyes wide in disbelief. "Oh my God... Victoria, I can't believe Evan could be this evil..." Leona started pacing the living room like a starving tiger. "I need to find a metal pipe. Or at least a rock to crush his head with! I'm serious! Just wait. I'll put him in the hospital or the grave!" Victoria gave her best friend a weary look. "Leona, relax..." "Relax?! How can I relax? Is the guy we thought was your future husband playing again? He deserves to be burned alive!" "Leona, enough!" Victoria said. "HE'S SUCH A PR*CK, D*CKHEAD F*CKING C*NT SH*T!" Tessa, famous for her Holy Mouth, released all the harsh words she had never uttered. Her chest rose and fell in a rapid rhythm as if she was also angry at what had happened to her best friend. Victoria and Leona were stunned to hear that their friend had opened a new pack in her life. "I'm finally happy," Tessa continued. Victoria and Leona glanced at each other. "Guys, take it easy, will you?" Victoria said. Leona slumped down on the couch, still grunting angrily. "Okay. But I swear, if I see him on the street, I'll at least spit on him. Or kick him in the crotch." Tessa sighed and looked back at Victoria with a worried face. "But you're okay?" Victoria laughed blandly. "What do you mean?" Tessa looked down sadly. "I really didn't expect it..." Leona chuckled with narrowed eyes. "Come to think of it, the guy's got a lot of style. We should have been suspicious from the start!" Victoria looked up at the ceiling and took a long breath. "And that's not the only problem..." Leona and Tessa looked at her suspiciously. "After I caught Evan cheating, I went to the club." Tessa raised an eyebrow. "Okay, still understandable. So what?" "I was drunk." "Okay..." "Then I confided in a strange man." "O... kay...?" Victoria bit her lip, hesitating. "And...somehow, I ended up in a hotel room with him." Silence fell over the room again. Tessa covered her mouth with both hands, her eyes wide. "What are you?!" Leona cheered loudly, "Oh my God, Victoria, it's called retaliation!" Victoria shook her head hastily. "Wait, wait, wait! It's not over yet. I only realized who this man was this morning." Leona still cheered until she finally digested Victoria's words. "Okay, wait. You mean you didn't know who he was last night?" Victoria nodded with a flushed face. Meanwhile, Tessa began to panic again. "Don't tell me he was a sugar daddy?" "WHAT? Oh my God, Tessa!" Victoria slapped her best friend's arm in annoyance. "The man is Felix." Immediately, the room fell silent. Tessa and Leona just stared at him with frozen, statue-like expressions. "Felix?" Leona repeated. "Yes," Victoria replied quietly. "Which Felix?" Tessa asked. "Felix, our college senior from the faculty of physical education." "The rumor was that he was the son of the head of the Foundation?" Victoria nodded. Once again, the room fell silent. Then... "HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!" Leona laughed so hard she nearly fell off the sofa. "Oh my God, Victoria! OF ALL THE PEOPLE ON THIS PLANET, WHY FELIX?! I still remember you rejecting him just because he wore a tacky plaid shirt that didn't match his mossy green pants." Victoria rolled her eyes. "Not mossy green. Chocolate." Leona still hadn't stopped laughing. "Oh, right! But come to think of it, yes. Isn't it a miracle that he's still so cool and dashing even in that plural outfit? It was as if the mismatched style couldn't ruin his good looks. If only another guy had worn it, it would've been like, f**k you know. Is it the money aura?" Victoria just shook her head, completely ignoring Leona's ramblings. Meanwhile, Tessa was still in shock. "So, did you really sleep with that Felix guy?" "I don't remember what happened at all! I didn't even realize it was him until this morning!" Victoria buried her face in her pillow in shame.
