Meredith : Celebrations
I'm dressed and ready to go down to dinner. Kate and Clara are waiting for me to make up my mind about whether to leave Sukey with Moira. Sukey likes Moira, and she's showing her a new book Clara gave her, but I'm not sure I should leave her. In the end I compromise and tell the others to go on without me saying I’ll follow later, but they refuse.
“No,” Kate says. “The captain wants us all to be together. We'll stay quietly next door in your cabin until Sukey falls asleep.”
So I sit on the end of Sukey’s bed and wait for her to drop off. It doesn't take long. She has a lot of sleep to catch up.
