37 Meredith : The Gala Ball We'll be in Southampton in two days. The Captain and I have still not talked about the future. We have two nights left to do so. Tonight will be taken up with the Gala Ball, leaving the last night at sea for packing and preparing to disembark. The weather has turned wintry. Everyone's quoting some quaint British saying: If March comes in like a lion, it'll go out like a lamb. It's certainly roaring at the moment. The Purser has advised all passengers to keep off the decks as the wind is blustery, blowing an icy sleet down from the Arctic Circle. Sukey is miserable because she can't visit Bijou.
