Lyn immediately stepped forward past Mr. George, but she stopped in her tracks when Kai's bowed head snapped back upright to stare straight at Mr. Thomas.

'Damn it, I thought he was dead,' Lyn thought as she exhaled harshly.

"I don't think you need to worry like that; look at the people who came," said Mr. George casually.

Then Lyn turned her gaze to the ten people who had come to the place. "Who's the one worrying about it? Only a fool would do that," Lyn said curtly, then she turned around and walked quickly away from Mr. George.

Meanwhile, at this time in the middle of the room, ten people were seen running towards Kai, who was still kneeling on the floor because Kai's legs had just been kicked from behind by two of Mr. Thomas' men, and in front of Kai was Mr. Thomas, who was looking at him sharply.

"Sir," said one of the ten men who had just entered the room. He then helped Kai to stand up.

Meanwhile, the other nine people were currently pointing guns at Mr. Thomas' men, Hansel, Anchi, and others.

"Do you want to be a traitor to the country?"

Mr. Thomas' eyes glanced at the man who had just helped Kai to stand up. 'They are the Lion-1 group,' he thought as he saw the tattoo of the word Lion written in vertical kanji on the neck of the man beside Kai.

"They are a mafia group that has always plagued North Fronch. What is your relationship with them?" asked Hansel while clenching his fist.

'What is Kai's relationship with the Lion-1 group? How can the Lion-1 group protect members of the army when, since three decades, the Lion-1 group and members of the army have always been enemies?' Hansel thought as he turned to look at the man who had just helped Kai up.

Hansel then noticed the g*n in the man's hand that had just been used to fire a warning shot. 'That's the latest type of g*n; even the defense division hadn't been able to get this type of pistol because they had to order a long time ago. Then how come these punks got their hands on it first?' he wondered.

A moment later Kai's phone rang. Kai immediately took the phone out of his pants pocket, but his eyes continued to glare at Mr. Thomas.

"Yes," Khai said when he first picked up the call.

"Uncle, can you do me a favor? I'm in the cupboard; someone was arguing with Grandpa earlier." A boy's voice was heard in the call.

"Stay there," Kai said, and then turned off the call.

After that, without saying anything, Kai stepped out of the place. Likewise, with the ten people from Lion-1's group, they followed Kai leaving the place.

Meanwhile, at this time, Mr. Thomas and Hansel looked at each other; then a moment later, Hansel nodded his head and walked quickly away.

'Kai Bowen, your father used to trouble me, and now you want to trouble me too. You're too young to do that,' Mr. Thomas thought while clenching his palm.

Fifteen minutes passed; at this time, Kai had just arrived at the street that was not far from his foster parents' house. There were many people gathered around the place to see Kai's foster parents' house that was on fire.

"The fire department is on its way here," said Leon, the deputy leader of the Lion-1 group who had always been around Kai. He had just finished calling the fire department, and all he got was that someone else had called the fire department first.

Kai continued to stare at the smoke that he could see in the sky. "You guys watch every corner of this place; I'm sure Hansel's men are around," Kai ordered in a calm tone.

"Yes, sir," Leon replied while nodding his head. After that, he went to do his duty.

While Kai was currently walking as fast as he could through the group of people who were watching the fire, until after a while he finally reached the very front.

"Ken, where's Dad?" Kai asked Kendric, the biological son of Kai's foster father.

Immediately, Kendric and the woman beside him turned to Kai.

"How dare you come here!" Kendric shouted while walking quickly towards Kai. He immediately grabbed Kai's shirt collar firmly. "You are the cause of all these things. Look at our only house burned down because of you! Why don't you just die in prison!" he shouted while pointing at the burning house.

"Ken, calm down," said Vion, Kendric's wife. She held Kendric's hand, which was currently clutching the collar of Kai's shirt.

A moment later, Vion looked at Kai. "Dad is okay; he has been taken to the hospital, but there are many bruises on his body," said Vion while blinking her eyes rapidly three times. Then Vion moved his eyes to the left three times quickly.

'Is she giving me a sign for me to leave here?' thought Kai, who noticed Vion's eye movements.

However, Kai suddenly remembered something important.

"Where's Jupiter?" asked Kai while looking at Vion and Kendric in turn.

Vion gasped in shock. "Jupiter is still in school; he..." said Vion, who began to doubt.

"Tell me where he is!" snapped Kendric.

Kai then turned to the burning house. "Call an ambulance; he's in the cupboard," said Kai while running towards the door of the burning house.

"How is this, Ken?" asked Vion, who panicked when seeing Kai just enter the burning house.

"Is Jupiter really in there? Can he survive?" said Vion, who started crying and thinking about the fate of his five-year-old son.

Then Vion stepped forward towards the house, but Kendric quickly held Vion's hand.

"No," said Kendric.

Vion immediately turned to Kendric. "But Jupiter, he—" Vion stopped talking when Kendric shook his head.

"Kai already knows Jupiter's location; if he's there, then Kai can definitely save him," Kendric said and then turned to the door of the burning house. "Now call your brother and get Jupiter away from this place."

Vion's eyes widened; she released Kendric's hand. Her crying stopped, and she immediately turned around, staring at Kendric's face. "What do you mean?"

Kendric turned his head and then placed his palm on Vion's head. "Tell Jupiter that his father is a hero just like his uncle."

Vion did not respond to Kendric's words, but her tears fell again, reflecting her heart when she heard her husband's words.

Meanwhile, Kendric looked back at the burning door of the house. "Kai, you've always been troublesome since you came here," he muttered, then smiled bitterly.

Meanwhile, at this time, Kai, who was in the house, immediately ran to the cupboard in the living room. He immediately opened the cupboard and saw Jupiter, who was currently sitting in the cupboard in a limp state.

"Uncle," Jupiter murmured while looking at Kai's face.

Kai quickly picked up Jupiter's small body. "Promise not to sleep; understand!"

Jupiter gave a small nod.

After that, Kai turned around; he looked at several wooden beams and objects that had been burned by the fire falling on the floor. He then focused his attention on the exit of the house.

"Jupiter," Kai called out as he began to pace quickly.

"Yup," Jupiter replied weakly.

"Counting," Kai said as he continued to look for a way out due to the many burnt objects and the limited visibility due to the thick smoke in the room.

"One, two, three." Jupiter continued to count slowly. Until after the fifth count, Kai and Jupiter were finally near the main door of the house.

Kai immediately broke through the fire that was burning the wood of the door and...

"If you dare shoot him, I will blow myself up and die with all of you!" shouted Kendric, who was currently standing one and a half meters away from the door of the house.

Kai, who had just come out of the house, immediately stopped walking when he saw the back of Kendric, who was currently wearing a suicide bomber's vest strap.
