LEILA’S POV
I watched as the building appeared to rise from the ground as Alaric drove the car towards it. The road was smooth and lined up with LED lights that illuminated the path like it was broad daylight.
The building itself—which I later realized was a hotel—wasn’t any less brightly lit up. It was shining even from so very far away.
The name COWE’S HOTEL AND SUITE boldly illuminated at the top of the building told me exactly what I needed to know.
The Cowes were popularly described as the wealthiest family in the nation. From the number of articles I’d read of them, they were involved in every sector of the economy.
