LEILA’S POV
Winnie and I shared a worried glance. “Right now?” I asked, and the guards nodded.
“But…but the Alpha has also summoned her.” Winnie lied, and my gaze snapped to hers, wondering why she would commit such a grave crime.
Lying with the Alpha’s name was gravely frowned upon. I’d know because it was the same rule that governed my pack, and judging by the skeptical look on the guards’ faces, it was definitely the same here as well.
“Are you sure?” One guard asked, and Winnie nodded. “Yes, he did earlier this morning when someone else served him breakfast. When he asked about her, I told him she must have slept in late, so he told me to get her. That’s why I’m here.”
