ALARIC’S POV
Left alone to dwell in the silence of my living room, my mind drifted back to my earlier conversation with Diane. That sneaky woman always found a way to make me do whatever she wanted. I never had a problem with it, at least not until Leila came into the picture. Using my mother to get to me was her way of controlling me, but she had no idea that even if I’d wanted to mate with her, that single act of hers slowly drove me away from her.
