Breaking the little girl's head off.
A girl with golden hair roamed the streets of Aragon in search of a person she absolutely had to meet.
It was a dreary, rainy day, and she was dressed only in a summer dress, but she didn't care. People passing by her thought she was crazy, but the girl continued walking ahead with a confident step.
Until a man accosted her.
"Forgive me for being pushy, but you're going to catch a cold." he said thoughtfully, handing the girl his jacket. The golden-haired woman smiled kindly, albeit artificially. The guy didn't know that she hadn't felt the cold in five hundred years.
"I'll be fine. Please go away." she replied maliciously.
The man obeyed her, but the woman suddenly realized he could be her snack. She hadn't eaten in two days and needed fresh blood.
"Please wait." he turned toward the woman when he felt the cool touch of her hand on his wrist. The girl looked deep into his eyes. "Don't yell. Follow me." she used persuasion, thus forcing him to follow her to a nearby park.
The golden-haired woman pressed the man against one of the trees and used hypnosis again, speaking:
"Don't move."
Her eyes reddened as she heard the beating of his pulse. She couldn't help herself. She sank her teeth into the stranger's neck, sucking up all his blood. She could have done it more brutally, but after two days of starvation she simply needed the food the man provided. She let go of his body, and it fell inertly to the ground.
"Yummy." she said contentedly, wiping the blood from her lip with her thumb.
She looked around and thankfully didn't notice any person nearby. She looked at the man once more, shrugged her shoulders unceremoniously, and walked away with a proud step.
She didn't want to leave traces of herself because no one would believe an animal attack. Though she had stumbled repeatedly over her mistakes, through which she had to flee, she had neither the strength nor the desire to bury the body.
Finally, she came to the house she was looking for. It didn't belong to the man she needed to meet, but she had to stop somewhere. So she chose a rich family, or more accurately, the mayor of the town lived here.
"Good morning. Can I help you?" he smiled kindly.
"Let me in." her eyes narrowed and returned to their previous form as she said it. It meant that she had just used persuasion.
"Come in." replied the man, at which the golden-haired woman smiled.
The girl crossed the threshold of the house, looking around the interior. She knew she had chosen well and could not regret her decision.
"Answer honestly. Who else lives here?"
"My wife and two daughters." he replied under persuasion.
"Call them." she demanded indiscriminately, and a moment later three women were standing before her.
"Who's the sweetheart?" the man's wife asked.
"This..." he began, looking at the woman whose name he still didn't know.
"I'm Artemia Samaras." she introduced herself politely. "But what I call myself is the least of your problems now. You better think about what I should do with you now." she said, going around the mayor's entire family on all sides.
"What's that supposed to mean?" the woman was outraged.
" I'm the one asking the questions. You will answer well, I will spare you. If wrong, your daughters life will end today." she replied ruthlessly, grabbing the girls under her arms.
"Okay. We'll answer, just don't hurt them."
The mother's distraught voice did not break Artemia. She was a merciless and emotionless vampire who could not be defied. Whoever did this could say goodbye to life. The golden-haired girl got attached very quickly, so she preferred to be the sneaky viper everyone thought she was.
"Tell me, where is Ernaldus Cato?" Artemia asked, still holding the two girls in her embrace.
"We don't know where he lives." the man said.
"I see you don't understand the gravity of the situation." at that moment the woman saw the housekeeper and did not hesitate, running up to the woman and violently ripping out her heart. The old woman fell to the floor and the couple was shocked.
"What are you?" that question seemed silly to the golden-haired woman, but she knew it was too early for people to understand what vampires were.
"That's not important right now. So I'll ask you again. I expect you to answer honestly." she said, standing next to the children again. "Where is Ernaldus."
"We don't know anyone in town with that name." made another attempt at the mayor, thinking the woman was bluffing.
"Oops, wrong answer." she said unceremoniously, breaking the little girl's head off.
Her mother's shrill screams rang through the house, but Artemia's only concern now was where to find Ernaldus.
"I'll ask you again. Where is he?"
Her gaze momentarily changed. He turned red and eager for blood, but it was only a pretense to seem more threatening.
"I don't know where he lives, but I know where he mostly stays. He's in a village nearby." finally confessed the frightened man.
Artemia was pleased with the result. Now she just had to reassure her family. Of course she didn't have to do it, but she loved to make people afraid. And she was always happy with the result. Especially when unbelievers finally believed she was a dangerous creature.
The golden-haired woman approached the woman who had a torrent of tears on her face. She couldn't understand how a mother who had just lost her child felt. Therefore, Artemia was not moved by this.
The woman's pupils narrowed. They looked like the eyes of a cat. Artemia focused her attention on two people to use persuasion at the same time.
"You will forget that you had another child. You won't tell anyone in town about what happened. You're gonna let me stay here. You won't ask any questions." her pupils returned to normal size.
The couple repeated everything as if in a trance. Unfortunately, cleaning up the mess Samaras made was left on her head. She hated to get dirty, but sometimes she had to.
The woman had to prepare for the next day. To that end, she went to a nearby village where Ernaldus was said to be staying. Who was he and why was he so important to the oldest vampire?
Ernaldus Cato was Artemia's first love since she became a vampire. For centuries she had shown no one her true feelings. And so four hundred years passed. Then she met Ernaldus. A man with unusual eye color, dark hair, and a physique that wowed many women.
When Ernaldus was stabbed. Artemia was very much affected by the fact that she might not see her beloved again, so she decided to heal him with her blood. She realized that he was a threat to her. She had to do everything she could to protect herself. She killed him. So she was surprised to find out that the guy she killed had come back to life. Despite being a vampire, she thought it was against nature.
She saw him living a normal life. He acted like a man. How did he manage to act so seemingly innocent for one century? So many questions were growing, and Artemia didn't know the answers to them. She needed to meet him, but not yet. First, she wanted to learn about his life. It is not yet time to invade and destroy them.
