Most of the group at the table were now talking about other things, but Kathy heard what Morgan said about Bernardo, and looked at Angela with concern.
"Should we go after Haley and make sure she"s all right?" Kathy asked.
"No, unfortunately, it"s probably the worst thing we could do,” Angela said. “As much as my instinct is to go after my cousin and make sure he doesn"t harm her, experience has taught me to stay out of things."
Angela looked around at the faces of Kathy, Jenny, Laura, and Morgan, and saw the doubt. She smiled sadly before continuing. "As awful as that seemed right now with Bernardo, if we follow Haley, he"ll make it worse for her later on. Right now, he has the upper hand, but if he thinks we’re interfering, he"ll take it out on her."
