Mia's POV
I know Baine just wanted to comfort me. It just felt wrong to let him do it. I didn't want to hurt him anymore than what I had. I felt like that might be crossing a line now. Because trust me, I wanted him to hold and soothe me. I felt safe with him, and right now, I needed to feel safe.
I could tell that he knew what happened with Jordan. It was pretty much a dead giveaway when he looked like he wanted to kill him. Especially since Baine basically gave me his blessing in a way. He had to be worried and pissed about something because of how he was acting.
I asked Colby if he knew where Gabby and Harlow were when I walked out of Jordan's hospital room. He put his arm around me. "I'll have someone bring them down to the kitchen. I heard you say you wanted hot chocolate, right?"
