Chapter 13

Gia’s POV

The ride over was relatively quiet, I was lost in my thoughts as I’m sure Val was. Once we got close to pack territory we dropped DJ off at a*****e. We continued in, and my heart started breaking a little. I dread leaving my aunt and uncle, they raised me as their own with no questions asked. They never hesitated to give or show me love the way my parents never did.

“I’d better break off my date with Greg tomorrow, did you ever find a date to the Ball?”

“No, Kasey showed no interest and none of my exes gave me the time of day.” Val has been through her share of guys, no judgement here but I thought for sure one of them would bring her to the ball.

I grab my phone break things off as easy and gently as possible. “Hey Greg, I’m so sorry to do this but I’m going to have to change our plans for the ball. Val doesn’t have a date so her and I are just going to go together. I’ll see you around though.”

“No problem! I’ll definitely see you there, save me a dance ;)”

Yeah… that’s not going to happened but he doesn’t need to know that right now.

We pull up to our sweet little cabin, it’s not much, but it’s always been home. The only place that has been consistent in my life. Every time I was shipped off to train somewhere I couldn’t wait until I got to come home to this cabin, where I knew everything would be ok.

We both went in and went our separate ways, I grabbed everything I needed for the ball and put it all in one day. I didn’t have a lot of stuff so packing the rest of my belongings wouldn’t take long. I didn’t really have time for clothes or fashion, I had to learn to kill or be killed as my father always said.

I called mama and pop and asked if they could come by the cabin for a moment so I could tell them what was happening.

I finished my packing and went to find Val.

I walked in her room as she was looking around “do you think Nathan would let me join his pack also? I don’t want to be here anymore.”

“Why? I thought you loved it here.”

“I love you mama and pops. There’s nothing else here for me. I would’ve found my mate by now if he was here. There’s no teaching job open. The guys and girls for that matter look at me as If im trash anymore. I want to come with you.”

“Well let’s see how the Ball goes and I’ll talk to Nathan.”

“Okay.”

“Will you help me load up my belongings, well probably have to take both cars. No all my stuff will fit in your little bug.”

“Of course, I’m ready to go too.”

We load up both cars and just as we finish mama and pop pull in.

They get out of their car looking suspicious.

“What are you guys doing.”

“Can we go inside? I have something I want to tell you.”

They follow us both inside and we sit down on the couch in the living room, they sit in chairs across from Val and I.

“Mama, pop, I want to thank you guys for everything you have done for me over the years. You turned your live upside down, left the castle, moved into this little cabin and brought me in as your own. You have showed me a love I never got from my parents and I will never ever be able to thank you both enough for that.”

Mama in tears now, “Val honey, what’s going on?”

My heart is breaking by leaving but I can’t help but smile “I found my mate.”

Both mama and pop jump forward hugging me tightly “oh honey I’m so happy for you!”

“My little girl, my sweet girl.” Pop with tears in his eyes. He’s my best friend as I believe I am his. I’m the little tomboy out of Val and I. I’ve helped pop work in the yard, work on cars, we’ve had fighting matches, and watch football on Sunday’s. I knew this would be hard on him.

“Honey who is he?”

“It’s Alpha Nathan of the Jade Moon Pack.”

“Oh little Nate? His father and I are old friends, this will give me an excuse to bring back our old friendship.

“Are you leaving now? What about the ball?” Mama ask.

“I’ll still be at the ball tomorrow. I was planning on taking everything out then but I think it’s best if I get my things now.”

“Well why?”

“I don’t think my parents are going to let me go so kindly. I’ve decided I’m done with the disguises. I want to come out with my true identity tomorrow at the ball. Princess Georgia Shaw will be making her turn for good.”

“Oh baby girl I’m so proud of you but I agree your parents aren’t going to like this.”

“I’m mated to not only an alpha but an extremely successful alpha who has every body guard, bounty hunter, personal security team and devices I could ever want. Plus I’ve been training for this my whole life. Now it’s time.”

Both mama and pop and full crying and hugging me now. I’m crying as well at this point.

“Val” mama says turning to her “what do you have to do with this?”

“Mama I’m going with G tonight, and hopefully alpha Nathan will allow me to join his pack as well. I want to find the happiness that Gia has, that you and pop have, and I don’t believe it is here.”

Now mama and pop have Val in a bear hug, crying even harder. I can’t imagine how they feel. Both their girls moving away the same day.

At least we will only be about two hours away.

“Mama pop” I say getting their attention. “Please don’t say anything to anyone until we show up for the ball tomorrow. I want to do this on my terms.”

“Of course baby. You have our word.”

“I’ve broke things off with Greg, so he might be fishing around the area just to give you a heads up.”

Everytime I’ve ended things with Greg he finds my aunt or uncle and tries to get info from them, waiting around with flowers and such. He’s a good guy and I hope he finds his mate. He deserves happiness too.

“Alright Val you ready?”

“Let’s go!” She gives her hugs to mama and pop and I do the same, saying our goodbyes for now.

We each get into our cars and head out of the pack territory. We might be followed so we decided it was best to go to the hotel and leave her car behind and head into the office.

Once we head out of territory I swing by the store to pick up DJ.

“Everything go okay Luna?”

“As good as it can.”

I head to the hotel and grab Valerie and we will make our way to the office. A new sense of freedom on the horizon.

Unknown POV

This can’t be happening. Not again, I won’t allow it. I watch the white jeep driving downtown. The Princess has an unknown man in the passenger seat, I’ll figure out who this is and get him out of my way. The Princess will be mine and I won’t stop until she is.
