Endings

Lea woke the next day feeling no more relaxed.

As she sat on her small porch she felt nothing but hurt, how could she not have noticed the monster in Damien?

She was always the one to arrange treaties and there was so many packs that would turn them down or change their minds. She never thought to ask why.

As she cradled her hot tea she knew in her heart she needed to leave. If she left Damien would leave the pack alone, hopefully his threats were just hot air.

Her mates smell came over her in the breeze as his huge body appeared around the side of the building giving her a smile,

'I was told that you loved rum raison muffins' he declared raising a bag that smelled like her favourite.

'I certainly do, come sit' Lea smiled.

Busters huge body took up Alot of the available space, making her porch look tiny.

'I was hoping we could get to know each other a little better,' Buster said with a hope in his eyes.

Lea gave him a small smile, but she knew what she had to do.

'Buster, I really appreciate you coming by and trying to be nice but.....' She couldn't believe she was going to say this 'I think for everyone's sake it's better if we don't.'

Busters face fell and his body tensed.

'I am really attracted to you Buster and in an ideal world we could end up together and get a happily ever after.' Lea had to say this before she changed her mind 'But I am going travelling the day after tomorrow. I cannot give this up, it has been my dream for so long to have freedom and I have spent the last year planning this trip.'

Busters sigh tore at her heart 'I thought that might be the case,' he looked genuinely upset. 'I understand what you want, I will leave you to your freedom' Bustet stood and looked down at Lea, 'I will return to my pack today, but Lea understand this I will not reject you or accept a rejection. I will always be here for you'

He suddenly turned away from her and headed back in the direction of the pack house looking defeated. Lea couldn't help the small tears that escaped her, if only she could have met him before signing that contract. She shook her head and headed back into her cottage, today was not a day for socialising and she truly hoped Buster would be okay.

Buster

As he walked back to the Cloaked moon pack house Buster could feel his heart breaking but he knew he would wait for her.

'Uncle Buster,' Lucy and Lainy spoke in unison as he entered through the front door.

'Hi girls, I am heading back to our pack today' he said with small smile.

'But why? We still get 4 more days with Letz' Lainy was far to excited about being with her sister and that made Buster smile truly.

'Something has come up girls but yous can all stay' he hugged the girls quickly then headed to his room.

Making the phone calls Johnny asked of him, he arranged for a combined meeting of the 4 packs he had contacts in to come in a weeks time. As he packed up the last of his stuff his mind wandered to what could have been.

Lea was an amazing woman and he didn't want to be without her, they could be amazing together maybe even have a child if she was up to it. Unfortunately he was too late and her mind was made up. He didn't know what to do now, he might aswell finish this meeting with Johnny and head back to his life of training warriors.

He headed to Johnny's office with his bag and the paperwork he had. After he knocked he heard Alot of shuffling and a cup smash.

A rather flushed looking Johnny answered the door with wide eyes as he caught sight of Buster,

'oh Buster, I wasn't expecting you til tonight' Johnny mumbled out of breath, but opening the door. As Buster entered he couldn't help notice his niece beside the desk with her dress buttoned up wrong and he couldn't help laughing.

'Sorry, to interrupt such important business' he managed out.

'Shut up uncle, why are you here? It's only lunchtime' Letty started fixing herself as she spoke.

'I managed to persuade the packs to come here next week if that is enough time for you to prepare' he said quickly.

'That's amazing thank you Buster, we really need to right some wrongs' Johnny smiled as he took the papers from Buster, 'Any news if the Omega and my sibling will be coming?' Johnny had such hope in his eyes.

'Unfortunately, she was not present for the phonecall, however the gamma said Frieda will available after 7pm when your brother Jaxon is in bed' Buster handed the last piece of paper to Johnny.

'This is her number, the gamma said he will inform her to wait for your call'

Johnnys face was full of happiness as he looked at the small note page.

'Why do you have your bag uncle?' Lettys eyes suddenly became serious.

'Lea has made her choice, she will be heading on her trip the day after tomorrow and I am going to return to Redmoon.' he kept his face as straight as he could but nearly broke when Letty engulfed him in a hug.

'I can't believe she rejected you uncle. Is there anyway we can help change her mind?'

'She didn't reject me, even if she did I would not accept. She wants to take her trip and I will not stop her' Buster couldn't stop the emotion in his voice. After waiting so long for her, he couldn't believe it came to this.

Johnny reached out for a handshake and Buster accepted.

'I would have been proud to call you my step father but I appreciate you supporting my mother's choice' Johnnys voice rang with sincerity. 'If there is anything I can do for you after all you have done for myself and my pack you let me know'

Only one thing came to Busters mind 'Just keep her safe Johnny. She is an amazing woman and I wish her nothing but happiness'

Johnny nodded and Buster decided to take his leave.

As he headed to his car he looked back towards the woods knowing his mate was out there. He wishes so much could be different but hopefully once he was gone and she left for her trip she would be safe from her evil ex mate. That was all he could dream of.
