CHAPTER SIXTEEN
Broderick shifted in his saddle. A throbbing soreness was climbing up his back from sitting so long. He looked over at Kira. If she was as uncomfortable as he was, she didn’t show it. She was strong and fearless, which was what he loved about her. It seemed to him that she had been acting differently since his rescue. He assumed it was because of her deal with the demon that wanted their child, but there was something else he couldn’t put his finger on.
