CHAPTER FIFTEEN The door slammed shut behind him with a thunderous crash. Aramis stood frozen in place, expecting an army of creatures to suddenly attack him. After what seemed like an eternity, he slowly let his guard down. As his eyes adjusted to the gloom, he realized that he was not in complete darkness as he had first thought. The ceiling glowed with a faint light. It provided just enough illumination to see by.
