CHAPTER FIVE
The next morning, Aramis and ten priests left the temple and headed north toward the Deadlands. The temple of Edria was in the city of Kaldore, which was a two-day journey northeast from Oakhaven, the capital of the kingdom. While Aramis had never been to the Deadlands, he knew the boundaries and landscape of his country.
To get there, they’d have to travel through the countryside where the majority of the people were simple farmers, then through the Tylhem Forest. Aramis remembered hearing stories from some of his teachers about the forest.
Some said it was haunted, and others that a mystic race of beings called it home. It had interested him as a child, but as he considered it now he found it to be foolish.
