The room was silent; save for Oceans whimpers and gut wrenching sobs. Knowing she was heavily pregnant had me feeling as defeated and helpless as ever. Knowing I had only been given ten hours until too much blood flowed to her brain and killed her made me feel like a failure. But there was nothing I could do. I had given up on trying to free myself from the suffocating silver cuffs on my wrists, binding me to the inflexible pole.
