Chapter Twenty-One- Rose POV

I couldn’t believe our mates planned this for us. I guess with all of my training and impending doom at our doorstep, I never thought about going on a date. This was so perfect of a place. The way the grass surrounded the pond, the way the water was absolutely crystal clear. I could see all the fish swimming happily around. The trees created a beautiful canopy for our picnic. I can tell that Brandon put a lot of time and thought into this moment. Jasmine was excited to be able to spend time with Adonis as well and just run free. I hope to be able to bring her out and train more often.
We headed back to the pack house after our little picnic date, hands intertwined together, walking underneath the tall trees. Once we got back, there was a different feel around us. There was such dark energy it was intoxicating.
“Rose, stay close and under no circumstances do you leave my side unless I say so.” Brandon said quickly as we darked into the pack house.
There was a woman crying horribly in the sitting area, Luna Abby was trying to soothe her, but nothing was working. Her horrible broken wales will always haunt me. Brandon led us to his Dad’s office, not stopping at the crying woman.
We went to the Alpha’s office, I wasn’t expecting it to be so busy. Alpha Pierce was barking out orders and pacing. His Beta, Rick, was looking at a map of our territory, and the Gamma making phone calls. My dad was standing in the corner with his arms crossed, watching out the window.
“Alpha, what’s going on?” Brandon asked in a serious tone. Addressing his father with respect.
“Oh there you both are. We were attacked and no one could find either of you. We’ve been linking you both non-stop.” The Alpha said.
“We went up the mountain. I remember letting you know that we would be going up there for a picnic. Dad, what happened?” Brandon asked.
“Oh I’m sorry, I forgot. That doesn’t explain why we couldn’t get ahold of you guys though.”
“I’m not sure. I didn’t put up any blocks or anything. You know, oddly enough, I couldn’t trace or link Rose either. It’s very strange.” Brandon said to his dad.
“Well, we can figure that out later, right now we need to focus on the threat. Three warriors guarding the southern border were attacked and brutally killed. It’s nothing I’ve ever seen. With a note hammered to one of the bodies.” The Alpha said, looking at us concerned.
“What did the note say?” I asked, my stomach was in knots at this point. I have a feeling none of us are going to like this.
“It’s a note addressed to you Rose. We’ve been looking for you to have you open it.” My dad, the lead warrior, said from behind us.
“Why to me?” I asked looking around, but no one answered.
Instead Alpha Pierce handed me the note. I opened it up, my hands were shaking uncontrollably. I could smell the scent of blood on it. It was a letter addressed to me.
My dearest Jade Wolf,
Oh how I’ve waited so long for you to appear again. You will be mine this time and no one can stop it. Jade Wolf, if your human doesn’t master her magic by her 19th birthday, she will turn to the dark side anyways and destroy everything in her path. So why not save yourself some trouble and just give yourself to me?
You’ve always belonged to me. I deserve the power you grant. I deserve the heir you create. Not some pathetic Wolf pup who thinks he is Alpha.
The Jade Wolf’s Human, you have three days to make a decision. If you do not come willingly, I will kill every pack member and make you watch. Your magic is of no match to mine so don’t get smart.

PS I’m not a patient man Rose.
I couldn’t believe what I just read. This cannot be happening. He said he would kill everyone. What am I to do? I’ve already mated with Brandon, so I can’t give this other guy an heir. My magic can’t save us. So what do I do? All these thoughts overwhelmed me. I began to feel dizzy.
I felt strong arms grab me before I hit the floor, from the sparks, I knew instantly who it was. Then I fell into the darkness of a dreamless slumber.
